Loseit Calorie Bonus is starting the morning with fitbit calorie burn that never happened

Hi, i have a versa 4 and loseit premium.  For the past few days, my calorie burn bonus area in loseit has been completely off...  it has started me first thing in the morning with between two and three hundred calories burned from fitbit, which is causing loseit to calculate my bonus calories before it should.  The weird thing is that fitbit doesn't show these calories anywhere, but loseit says the calories are coming from fitbit.   These are literally there showing in my calorie bonus section the moment I wake up in the morning.  I started the day today with 287 exercise calories added to my daily budget.  I've disconnected both devices and reconnected, and even bought a new fitbit yesterday thinking maybe mine was shot.... no change.  The number of calories under "current energy burned" for the day in loseit is like 400 calories more than what i've actually burned according to fitbit.  I've turned off and turned back on every setting I can think to change.  Nothing is working.

Unfortunately the calories apparently adjust throught the day on their own.....the other night I went to bed 227 calories under and woke up the next morning at 42 over.......

I am having the exact same issue and so is my husband and brother. We all have different fitbits and we all have lose it premium. So frustrating.  Has anyone found a fix?

My Fitbit has just added 873 calories of non-existent exercise calorie burn to my Loseit budget. 873 calories burned in HALF AN HOUR of watching tv from midnight to 1230! That’s DOUBLE the non-existent burn that’s been happening every day for the last two weeks. I mean, is ANYBODY home at Fitbit, or is it being run by a pack of gibbons and a pony? Do they want me to jump up and down on this thing and break it into bits on YouTube and put my broke self deeper in debt to buy an Apple Watch?? At least it would work. Two weeks!!! Get it together, Fitbit!! 🙄

For further clarification: this isn’t just an issue with the Fitbit app communicating w the Lose It app, but with the Fitbit itself. The Fitbit and the Fitbit app are showing, as of this morning, 807 calories burned, when all I did was sleep, wake up, and do household chores for 30min. Never in ten years for tracking have I burned that much doing so little. More than two week and still no response from this company. 🤷🏻‍:male_sign:

Piling on here.  I woke up, came downstairs and I now have a 1,031 calorie bonus. This is ridiculous. Using older fitbit versa, which worked fine up until today.

Both my son and I are seeing the same issue. Over 900 extra calories and I only have about 1,000 steps in this morning. Very annoying since I'm trying to super careful about tracking my calories right now.

I am so sad this is happening to others, but also happy I'm not the ONLY one this is happening to...  Mine is showing almost 2,000 Cal difference in LOSEIT! app and it is driving me nuts...  Any updates on a fix?  Seeing the bonus calories was a way to show how hard I was working by having them AND staying within my daily calories.  And now seeing something I didn't really earn pop up just stifles my motivation.

Have you found a fix for this?

My Fitbit is an older Charge 4, but it’s doing the same thing in the Lose It app…. giving me a bunch of exercise and bonus calories for no reason, even when I first wake up.  I have tried deleting and reinstalling with no success.

Same issue-super frustrating! I don’t understand why there isn’t a fix..this has been an issue for over a month now…unfortunate for all customers who utilize these particular apps

Hey — latest here: I finally had the time to get in a chat for 20 minutes w Fitbit/Google customer support. They are in the middle of a “large background system update” which will take “a couple of more weeks” to finish on their end. I made sure to tell them that it’s no longer just an issue of the Fitbit not communicating with the lose it app, but mis-registering calories on the Fitbit app and on the device itself. Still getting an un-earned calorie bonus of 400 to 800 extra overnight or by breakfast time. The representative had me try resetting the device (connecting the charger and holding down the power button simultaneously for 8 seconds, until a “smiley face “ appears) but it did not work. She apologized and said there was nothing else they could do until this purported “background update” is completed in “a couple of weeks.” I did point out that a calorie tracker not counting calories properly isn’t just “a minor issue” — it’s basically the equivalent of a car that can’t move! At this point my Fitbit is little more than a funny looking watch. That said, I am too broke to buy an Apple Watch (which I would do in a heartbeat after this fiasco). So I will wait this out and hope for the best. In the meantime, I’ve been adding an “Adjustment Snack” of 1000(!) calories in my Lose It log, which is keeping me in the ballpark. But it’s just a pain. And it’s pretty silly that Google, basically the biggest richest company on the planet, needs over a month just to get a calorie tracker (which worked fine for years) to work again. Best of luck, everyone.

Thanks for this update! Unfortunately, they said it would be fixed in "a
couple of weeks" a week ago. Sigh.

I bought a Garmin and it had so many issues that I've now gone back to my
Fitbit, warts and all. The most bizarre part of this is that when I look
back at the previous day's numbers when I get up in the morning, the
additional bonus exercise calories have disappeared and the numbers appear
correct. So apparently, some part of it is working, just not in real time.

All of the bogus exercise bonus points just disappeared from my Lose It log for today. Fingers crossed that it's the same for everyone and that our nightmare is over!

The bonus disappeared mid-day for me today as well. The tracker is still showing they have api issues, but fingers crossed they've been able to resolve. I wish they would be more transparent in the ticket, even if they updated it every few days to say ''we're still working on it, thanks for your patience'' would be a nice courtesy to users https://status.fitbit.com/incidents/D6j3uhKPGKKsJjNoxsp7

Is anyone still seeing an increase? I think I am about 19% over for this time of day with the same amount of exercise. It is closer to normal, but to stay true, I really want/need accurate data…

I didn't start today with a bonus, but I'm not sure that the communication is back to normal. I'm about 7% away from my "target burn" calories and I think that is a way smaller number than I should have - I think I should be at 50% or something! The day is only half over and I haven't exercised at all (office job).

It’s better but not right. I used to have “total burn” and now I have “projected burn.”  At least I’m not waking up with an 800 calorie bonus but it’s still not right.

Mine has always been Projected Burn before the day is finished, the Total Burn after I've "Done Logging" and the day is officially over. I think it's fixed.

I agree this issue is now resolved.
