MapMyRun Workouts Sync with Fitbit but the time is incorrect

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Has anyone else encountered an issue recently (May 2016) where a workout (a walk in my case) from MapMyWalk (Run, etc) in imported into Fitbit with the wrong time stamp? The time is correct in MMW, but it's 3 hours earlier in Fitbit. This results in duplication of a workout and messes with calories burned. I've used both Apps for well over a year and in general until recently they've played well with one another. I've "talked" with UnderArmour and they don't think the problem is at their end. Is anyone else experiencing this? Thanks. Laura

Hello @LauraB1, good to see you around in our community. I would like to ask you a screenshot of how it looks your activities. As far as I know the integration with both account works as follow:

What Syncs?
Fitbit > Distance > MapMyFitness apps
Fitbit > Calories > MapMyFitness apps

So in other words, data will sync from Fitbit to MapMyFitness programs. MapMyFitness activity doesn't sync to Fitbit. Reason I would like to take a closer look so I can share with you a solution.

Hope to hear from you soon, I'll be around.

Sorry for the delay. Here's a couple of screen shots of a Fake 15min walk I logged from MapMyRun this morning. I did this from my computer/websites for both MMW and Fitbit, but the problem is universal meaning I get the same time discrepency with Android and iOS. The relevant info/problem is Workout created for MMW @ 10:04AM and Fitbit @7:04AM.

Hey @LauraB1, thanks for the screenshots! It looks like the activity came from MyFitnessPal rather than from MapMyWalk/Run. The time difference seems strange, might want to check your timezone settings on MyFitnessPal and on Fitbit to see if they match up.

Thanks Andrew. The timezone for MyFitnessPal was set to PDT, whereas I'm in EDT. I've changed the settings. I don't know why they've changed or better yet why MFP is relaying the info to Fitbit rather than MMW. I've checked the settings for MMW and it is linked with Fitbit correctly. It's almost as if MFP is taking presidence in the UnderArmour/MapMyFitness Empire. In any event thanks for the tip.

@LauraB1 You're welcome! 🙂

Here's a quick breakdown of how these particular integrations work with Fitbit (arrow represents syncing):

MyFitnessPal
Fitbit MyFitnessPal
  • Steps
  • Weight
MyFitnessPal Fitbit
  • Activities
  • Food

MapMyWalk (and other MapMyFitness apps)

Fitbit MapMyRun
  • Steps
  • Distance
  • Calories
  • Weight

Note: MapMyFitness apps (such as MapMyWalk) are one-way integrations, meaning Fitbit data will sync to the integration, but not the other way around.
