MyFitnessPal doubling activities

Hello everyone, I am new to the community. I got my fitbit yesterday and I have a question.

When I add exercise to myfitnesspal, it looks like activity is doubled. My question is, will the calories double up too? Because I dont want that.

Hello @Rapathy, welcome to the community forums!

This is odd but I would recommend re-inking your MFP and Fitbit accounts by doing the following:

On the Fitbit App:

  1. Tap the Today tab Fitbit logo in gray, and tap your profile picture.
  2. Scroll down and tap or click Manage Data > Manage 3rd Party Apps.
  3. Log in to your Fitbit account.
  4. Tap Revoke Access to disconnect an app from your Fitbit account.

On the Fitbit.com dashboard:

1. From the fitbit.com dashboard, click the gear icon An icon of a gray gear > Settings > Applications.
2. Click Revoke Access to disconnect an app from your Fitbit account.

A couple things to consider about your MFP - Fitbit Integration:

  1. The accuracy of your Fitbit Log will depend on the accuracy of your MFP food logs.
  2. All exercises and non-step based activities must be logged through Fitbit, otherwise MFP may count them as double.

Also,  all food and water items must be logged through MFP and your steps, exercises, manual logs and other activities need to be logged through Fitbit; this will prevent any double logging or incorrectly increasing your caloric budget for the day. They connect seamlessly and transmit information between each other so your caloric budget is on a continuous update.

Hope this helps!

It is doubling my Calories.  I have unliked and relinked the two FOUR times.  No change.  Seems to have been happening for the last week.

Hello @add0068 Welcome to the community forums!

I recommend logging Food through MFP, and your steps, calories, scale measurements (if applicable), please log them through Fitbit; this will prevent any double logging or incorrectly increasing your caloric budget for the day.

If you need further assistance, I recommend contacting MyFitnessPal support

Hope this helps!
