MyFitnessPal syncing with Fitbit app - Why does it log a workout every time it does this?
At 2300hrs every day MyFitnessPal syncs its data to my Fitbit account. I want it to send the food and other nutritional data only - that's what the app is for. Then Fitbit should take that and use it against my activity tracked by Fitbit - that is what the app and tracker are for!!
Why does the MyFitnessPal app then log a workout when syncing this data. It can be for a minute or 5 or loads more - sometimes it syncs a further few hundred to a few thousand calories to the Fitbit app. Everyday i have to go in and delete them. Pain in the **ahem**

Hi there @SWJO, good to see you around. I'm not sure what exactly you mean when you stated it logged an exercise when it does this?
However regardless of this, I can tell you MyFitnessPal has not the capabilities to log an exercise automatically, unless is not an activity previously manually created.
Every time an exercise is logged in MFP, this will be synced as a manual entry on your Fibit Dashboard. You are correct when you say the food information will be used against the exercise in your Fitbit Dashboard.
Now I'm sure you know how this works, so the only reason MFP might be doing this, is if you have other external application linked with MFP and is taking the exercise data which by consequence is sending the exercise to Fitbit too due to the existing integration with MFP.
So review that you are not using other connected to MFP to log your exercises.
Keep me posted how it goes, I'll be around.

Hi Roberto,
I have uploaded an image of the Exercise section in my Fitbit app and have highlighted the workout.
I have MyFitnessPal linked to my Fitbit account and nothing else and this is what I get. This happens every night at 2300hrs.
I believe that the issue is that when MyFitnessPal syncs the food data it is entering the info as a workout.
I cannot think of anything else that would be causing it.
I have even tried stopping using the MFP app for food tracking so it is syncing nothing from MFP but still adds the workout.

Hello @SWJO, thank you for the screenshot and my apologies for not posting any update after our last interaction. So i'm wondering how it goes?
With my experience using Fitbit and MFP I have never seen a food log turn in to an activity log, not impossible though, but as I mentioned in my other reply, MFP has not the option to automatically log exercises.
However I have seen this scenario with other users and it might be possible your Fitbit account is not linked to any other third party app or service, but perhaps MFP does. It is the only way I can explain why are you seeing and entry like the one on your screenshot. Specially since you mentioned that even when you stopped using MFP, the same behavior continue to happened.
Is there any other integration or service that you are using and might be linked to MFP, leaving outside the topic your Fitbit account?
See you around and let me know if the issue persists.
