PokemonGo interference with fitbit

Hi Guys

Does anyone with PokemonGo experience sync issues with thier Fitbit blaze?

The reason i ask is because my Blaze no longer received text notifications, i checked all the settings which is set to allow, i can pair with it but just not sync with the app. Even re-installing didt help, or re adding the Blaze back has left the app unable to even see it. But then noticed that it said it hasnt been synced since last Thursday.

I then started to think...on Thursday i downloaded the PokemonGo app...i then realised that it uses pedometer.

with a little resarch i found this paragraph in help:

It's also possible that an app on your phone is interfering with the Fitbit app's ability to use Bluetooth. Several apps that use an API developed by Ford Motor Company make it difficult for the Fitbit app to reliably perform Bluetooth functions like syncing, receiving call or text notifications, and others. Some of these apps, like Pandora, are common. You can reviewFord's list of apps that use this API, though other apps not on the list certainly use the Ford API as well. To use the Fitbit app successfully if you have one of these apps installed, you'd need to disable Bluetooth on the problem app (some apps allow this) or opt to uninstall it.

could the issue be that PokemonGo is interfering with fitbit even though i am not using any other bluetooth devices?

if anyone has similar issues please let me know.

PokemonGo doesnt use bluetooth, so it should not be interferring with the Bluetooth connection of fitbit.
Have you checked the settings, or looked here https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Blaze/Blaze-Notifications-Information-Post/m-p/1254414

Pokemon Go does use Bluetooth if you have a Pokemon Go Plus (and my have some tie there even if your not using it, as the technology option is inbuilt)
I have been having issues with my Pokemon Go Plus ever since I got my Blaze

My Blaze started of 'OK' but has progressively been getting worse with Bluetooth connectivity requiring constant restarts and not syncing back to my phone.

I'm personally at the point where I'm going to uninstall the fitbit software as it brings very little benefit to me as I'm constantly trying to fix its connection and not getting any notifications from it

Hello there, @FuzyBunnyofDoomMan Very Happy Please make sure that you are running the latest version of the Fitbit App, to be honest it should not interfere with other Apps.

Also, you can try to log out, reboot your phone and log back in. This usually fixes connectivity problems. Please let me know what notifications are you not receiving?

Figured I might follow this up in case anyone else has issues

I think I figured out the root cause, it was because I had the application Pandora (music app) installed.

Now there is a fitbit article in the first post that does talk more about it and mentions it more about Ford Motor Company (I do not have a Ford or connect to any other Bluetooth device for my music with his) but since I uninstalled Pandora the connection appears to be working fine.

Didn't really understand how just having the app installed would cause this, but at least the watch is working again
