I have connected my Fitbit  Alta with rivalhealth.com for a challenge at my work.  Rivalhealth says they have successfully connected to my device but when I touch my Fitbit, it always displays Fitbit.com/set up. How do I know if I am successfully synced and that it is tracking my steps etc?? thanks. Im lost

Hello there @Jody2017 nice to see you have joined to our Fitbit Community! I'm not sure the way RivalHealth syncs with Fitbit since this integration doesn't figure among our officially supported third party apps. However there are tons of apps that use our Open API to integrate their service with ours, so this doesn't mean it won't work.

To answer your question, your Alta tracker will sync with your Fitbit dashboard and from here the data will be shared to any third party application you have linked to your account.

So if you are seeing on your tracker "Fitbit.com/set up" it might be require to pair your tracker to your Dashboard for this action to take place. How do you know if your tracker is tracking your steps? Easy, just by looking to your tracker' screen or your Fitbit Dashboard if the data has synced your daily stats.

After reviewing a little bit about RivalHealth, I can see the data included in the access is the following:

Friends, sleep, activity and exercise, food and water logs, Fitbit devices and settings, heart rate, weight, profile.

But it might be require to contact RivalHealth to learn more on how this data will sync, since the information may vary; specifically talking from where is going to be shared. To explain better this, I will take the example of MyFitnessPal. Food logs created in MFP will be shared to Fitbit, but Food from Fitbit won't be visible in MFP.

See you later and hope this helps.
