Pulling things together - Fitbit, MFP, Strava, etc

Ok - I'm a new Fitbit user. I have a Charge HR. When I go for a ride or run, i use the Fitbit to log the activity. But, the Charge HR doesn;t give me all the detail I want so i use some other apps.

For running, I use a Nike+ Sportwatch. When I cycle, I use the Strava app on my phone. And I use MyFitnessPal for food tracking (their database is the most complete I've found - especially for locally produced/sold stuff in Australia).

The net result is that when I complete an activity, I'd like stuff to be pulled together correctly and without me messing about. For example, at the end of a ride, I'd like to have my route map, distance, elevation and speed from Strava app correlated with the heart rate info from Fitbit.

And, I'd like my activity, which is logged in Fitbit to automatically go straight to MFP. It seems to me that activity info goes from MFP to Fitbit but not the other way.

Any advice?

Thank you for being part of the Community @anthonycaruana! Sorry for the delayed response.  You can link you Fitbit account to different apps and get or share information. Fitbit will share with Strava rides and runes. Based on that, you'll get your distance and duration.  You will only get your activities information from MFP to Fitbit.

If you'd like to get more information to be shared, you can contact MFP and Strava support to request for this features.

Fitbit doesn't send "activities" to MFP. Rather, MFP calculates a "Fitbit calorie adjustment" based on differences in calorie burns between the two databases.

Hi @tastybrew, it's great to see you in the Community!

I would recommend going to your settings on your Fitbit account and in the "Applications" section, click on "Revoke Access" and then go to MFP and link your Fitbit account again and see if it transfers your information properly now. For more information about this, check this link.

Hope this helps and please let me know if you have more questions. 🙂

@FerdinandFitbitYou directed your comment to the wrong person. To my knowledge Fitbit/MFP integration is not currently capable of doing what the OP wants. Revoking and readding permissions isn't going to change anything.

On a side note, I really wish the mods would stop placating everyone by saying "it's great to see you here".

Thank you for that info @FerdinandFitbit! It seems there's a bit of confusion about the way that MFP and Fitbit work. I want to share the following chart to clarify any question you may have.

I hope this helps and good luck!
