Strava and Fitbit are excited to officially announce their partnership, making it even easier for members to track all day activity and maximize workouts. You can now connect your Fitbit account with Strava, which means your workouts logged in Fitbit will automatically sync to Strava, and your Strava workouts will sync to Fitbit!

If you’re a Fitbit Surge user, heart rate and GPS-based exercise data, including routes, distance, elevation and pace, will sync to Strava – whether you track a run or use our new biking feature! MobileRun users with any Fitbit device will also be able to view their GPS data in Strava.

That's excellent news! Great work to everyone on both teams.

Best AnswerThat's good news.
Couple of questions:
Does the HR from the Charge HR also sync to Strava?
Or is the Charge HR not part of this integration?
What do I do when going out for a spin?
I start Strava and Fitbit at the same time or only the Strava as the Charge HR doesn't have GPS?
Thanks!
Best AnswerHi Smartdrive,
to try to answer your question from using the integrations for a few weeks in beta.
The Charge HR syncs to strava, but I can't talk about the HR data since I don't usestrava premium.
When I go for a ride/spin, I only start my strava app. When all is synced, I have my distance combined with all the rest of the info in my fitbit app.
I might try the strava premium to see if everything syncs both ways.
Hope this helps,
Eric

Best Answerok I have a charge HR.
If I start a run or cycle from the apple application for fitbit it records the gps and the heart rate and imports it in to strava all together.
If I start the sport from the HR device to time a non moving turbo train session it measures my heart rate but does not sync this at all to strava. I have to then add it manually.
If I record from strava I don't get any heart rate data.
The best thing would be for Strava to get full integration as they do with garmin and other HR devices. I wait with one leg on my turbo pedal.
Love the fact its all coming, wish we were in a situation where it all just worked and we didn't have to wait for it.
Best AnswerHi Matthew,
I posted this under another posting earlier. My integration on both the Fitbit and Strava dashboards is confirmed as active, but the data sync appears to only be in one direction at the moment.
Activities in Fitbit are showing up in Strava properly.
Activities uploaded directly to Strava (via Garmin 500 for cycling) are not syncing to my Fitbit activity feed at all.
I thought perhaps it was just overloaded with API calls for the data, but it's been more than 24 hours. Is there a way to force a sync of the data, or are there other reports of data transfer being an issue at the moment?
Thanks.
Best AnswerAt first I thought you posted "hundreds of KOM's", LOL. Stuuuuuuud.
Best AnswerHi guys,
I read that strava and fitbit only sync runs and bike rides. Do you know if they planned on syncing my swimming activites? I am able to enter them on the dashboard but why would I have to if it's already in strava? They could just sync it and I don't have to worry about it.
Thanks,
Mathias
Best AnswerIt simply does not sync sometimes. I run with Strava, and right after the run it probably syncs 50% of the time. If the run doesnt sync in the first hr or so, it never does.
