Strava link - will I get duplicates

I recently got a Charge HR, and I'm thinking about linking to my Strava account. However, I would like to know what happens if I do an activity (e.g. cycling) whilst wearing my Charge HR and I also record it on another device with heart rate recording that uploads to Strava. Do I end up with two activities, or is the Fitbit system clever enough to recognise they are the same activity and only record one set of data?

Hope that makes sense!

Dave.

I thought it would do the same thing, but no they've configured it in a way that only one bike activity i shown under recent activities without having to do anything.

There's some kind of transitional thing that happens though because right after I stop a ride in Strava and look in the Fitbit app to make sure it registered, its says "Outdoor bike", time spent, and a certain cal count burned, then a few minutes later it just says "bike", the time spent, and a diff cal count burned. Pretty similar numbers, but some kind of conversion happens between the two. Either way, it results in only one activity.

Hope this helps.

PS:I started with Strava 2 days ago and I'm THE expert hehe
