Unable to sync or setup Withings scale

My Withings scale has been syncing fine until early afternoon eastern standard time Thursday, August 20th, 2020.

I've disconnected the link and tried resynchronization and if doesn't appear to pick up any new data/unsynchronized data.

Would anyone know if there's a current outage?

He don't care too I think, because there is still no movement from Fitbit. maybe I can claim some money back from them ( when I bought my scale they advertised I can use it with Fitbit, unfortunatelly not anymore.

this Fitbit Charge4 I bought is for me and my girlfriend the 6th device but I know for sure  it will be the last.

Apple here I come and for Fitbit it is for me F*ckit

How dare you to give a standard answer after a month doing nothing for your customers who pay every month your food and a lot more.

It is a part of the job to communicate up to your manager and that over paid manager don't do also nothing to the VP.

Nobody care at FITBIT this is the 3rd time this has happend and it is a shame for a company not to communicate to your customers and keep them updated.

Finally noticed this as I am restarting workout discipline.

No sync since the 20th. And appallingly, seeing a thread with hundreds of other people experiencing same issue, with no fix, speaks volumes about where this is on their priority list.

I was hoping that under Google you would stop with the garbage customer service. Apparently I was wrong.

Without integrations, your product is defective. This is not "answered", and it is insulting to all your customers to say so. Last straw, finally going Apple watch.

This is taking way too long. Please fix it!

Thanks for this, started using it a week ago, with mixed feelings about privacy. But as it only asks for minimum access (read withings weight, nothing else, write to fitbit weight, nothing else) I accepted it.

But its still unclear why fitbit keeps that integration still broken and doesn't even offer a good explanation.

I mean, their own Aria scale can't be the cause. Thats technically infeasible to the withings stuff and in such not comparable or an alternative.

Has this been fixed?

No and they are not sure they will fix this feature.

Obviously, there is some kind of dispute between Fitbit and Withings.  As always, we the consumer are the football.  At this point it's unlikely this will be resolved.  Fixed, I'm sure it could be fixed in less than five minutes if they wanted to.  So tired of wasting money on products that loose compatibility due to greed.

This should not be a surprise. They've refused to integrate with Apple Healthkit for years, obviously because they want to not cede ground to Apple or make it easy to have that be the main source of truth for your health data. Yes, there are workarounds that can shuttle the data back and forth.

When you look at this though with clear eyes, it's obvious they are struggling, and have to resort to killing integration as a means to try to trap you into their ecosystem (i.e. I can hear some PM there now going "we're not getting traction on the Aria scale, why are we investing in Withings integration?").

This is what happens when companies are struggling or failing. They gut support, integrations, and try to close off their ecosystem. Google acquisition isn't done yet (so I hear), and maybe it gets better then. That said, Google has such a record of killing products with no notice that I would not hold my breath.

Part of what is so infuriating about this is that they are giving us the runaround and refusing to communicate about what is going on.  You might be right that they are doing this to try to lock people into the ecosystem, but their refusal to come clean is insulting.  Withings has fitness trackers on the market so maybe Fitbit has decided to withdraw their integration support, but the fact that they are not being honest or upfront with their customers is ridiculous.  Right now I am looking at my alternatives to the Fitbit and their app.  If they are going to step all over their customers in this way, they should not be rewarded for it.

Oh dear, they still havent reverted this intentional break? What a sham of a company.

Don't warry, they are working hard. But in the gym! 😉

I downloaded a 3rd party app called myfitnesssync and it transferred the data back to my fitbit app. Cost 8.49 Canadian, but worth it to me!

I have that but I thought it was from Fitbit to Apple health. How do I get my weight measurements out of Whithings and into either Apple or Fitbit…?

Best Answer

Hi they have two apps! One is Apple to Fitbit and the other is vice versa. Make sure to download the red cloud. Once you download there’s a sync option and log into Fitbit. Make sure to close the Fitbit app and reopen and all my weight data was back in Fitbit. Hope that helps!

I have a Whithings scale so all of my weight measurements are in withthings… That’s my problem I can’t get it out of withings into either Fitbit or Apple.  Or does Apple connect to withings? 🤔

Best Answer

Yes the Apple health app does still connect to the scale. Go into your Withings app and under profile there’s an app section click on the Apple heart icon and they should link up.

This is iPhone only.

In any case, here we are talking about Withings to Fitbit.
