Hello,
The activity duration from Endomondo will sometimes not reflect the actual duration that I was out being "active" - pausing my Garmin bike computer or watch will cause the recorded activity time to be lower than the actual elapsed time for the activity. How does fitbit actually detect overlapping activities from third party apps/activity trackers?
Please let me know if I should go about deleting all the fitbit "activity" records to get a more accurate picture of my calories burned.
Thanks!

Best AnswerEndomondo will normally only feed Fitbit activities tracked with Endomondo. However, if you have Endomondo connected to another 3rd party app and that app feeds Endomondo, Endomondo will likely feed that activity to Fitbit as well.

Best AnswerI am not sure what the issue is. I use Endomondo when I bike and the info comes over properly. Do you have your Endomondo app set to auto pause when you rest? That will give you a true calculation of duration. I do get some steps generated while wearing the Force tracker and I probably should just take it off when I bike, but I don't consider it a big deal.
Best AnswerOk here's an explanation of the issue:
I use a Garmin edge/forerunner to track my biking/running activities. I have my Garmin devices to auto pause when stopped/below a certain speed.
The "duration" recorded by garmin/endomondo for these activities is ONLY the "moving" duration (outside of paused times). When fitbit tries to eliminate double counting, it only ignores activities from the starting time till the end of the "duration". So if my actual activity time was 7 hours, but the "duration" from endomondo/garmin was 5 hours, fitbit will be double counting calories from the last two hours. Does that make sense this time? 🙂
