I just bought a Zip and am wondering if there is an app for the Surface tablet?

Go to the Windows App Store on your Surface.  Search Fitbit and you will find the official app.  I have it on my Surface RT.  The App is awesome!

I want to buy a Flex, but I'm not sure if Ill be able to use it fully. I don't have a compatible smartphone, but I do have a Surface. Can I just sync the flex to the Windows RT app, or will I be missing out on some functions compared to syncing with the smartphone app?

I synch with my RT no problem  You do have to use the USB dongle.

And NOT supported by fitbit!  Did you notice there is no section for it under "dashboards" here for the app?

And even though the MS store say's it's from fitbit, Fitbit doesn't seem to know about it!  (ask support ANY question about the MS store app and see what they say!)

I have been useing the fitbit apt on my surface, though I have been synching to my PC.  Now it is not working on tablet. Does any one know how to get it back?

More details are likely needed to really solve your problem. But have you tried any these quick fixes:

Log out of the app and in again (this often fixes sync problems I find)

Restart the app.

Make sure the USB dongle is plugged in properly (and has the permission to be used)

Restart the tablet.

Reinstall the Fitbit app
