Hey there everyone
I have synced the mindbody app on iphone with my surge and it seems like mindbody will recognise and record the number of calories i have burned during a class, but i need to add the activity to my fitbit account manually.
is there some sort of setting i need to change, or is this a design prob?
thanks
megan

@meow It's so great to see you around! It's not possible to transfer that activity to Fitbit because MindBody will sync just your calories burned and your average heart rate. You could add this activity to Fitbit if you track it as "workout" so you could know when was the activity recorded.
Additionally, you can add this idea to our Ideas Board because those suggestions are viewed by our engineers and developers and the best of this is that people can vote for them.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

I just synced my Alta with MindBody. I took a 45 minute class but it only recorded 12 minutes of my workout, which was 45 min of cardio, and it only recorded 63 calories of what MindBody said was 90 calories (which is still too low since it didn't capture the whole class). Any ideas/suggestions on how to ensure a better sync? It's reallty hard to record accurate calorie burns for classes outside of the auto-recognized exercises which aren't really helpful for people who do group fitness workouts. Thanks!

@carriealane Welcome to the Community! I would like to get more information about it to further investigate it. Was the exercise tracked using SmartTrack? or did you put your tracker into activity mode? Is this the first time that this happened?
MindBody and Fitbit may record the information a little bit different. Because Fitbit will use your personal information and the data that's getting from Alta to show your results. Instead MindBody will use the phone to track your exercises.
Keep me posted.

I was wondering the same as the OP - which is more accurate? Smart track on my Charge 2 doesn't detect my Orangetheory classes so it doesn't log any exercise. When I enter it in manually as "Aerobic exercise" it only counts as 188 cals which ends up lowering my calories burned for the day. However if I don't enter any exercise at all it says have burned higher calories.
On the other hand, on the MINDBODY app when I sync it with Fitbit data it says I burned 438 calories in the class. Which is correct? Is there a point in manually recording my exercise, or just let the Fitbit app detect calories based on my heart rate?

Hey there @dentista87! When you're using a third-party app with Fitbit, you can manually log the activity in MindBody and use your Fitbit tracker for the other activities that can be tracked or detected by it.
For Fitbit trackers that support heart rate monitoring, you would probably only want to log an activity manually if you forgot to wear your tracker or forgot to track the exercise. These trackers take heart rate into account when calculating calories burned, so even if an activity doesn't count steps, you still get calorie count information.
Hope this clarifies your doubts!

@Msmohit Welcome to the Community.
There are tons of apps that use our Open API to integrate their service with ours. The best way to tell if an app is compatible with Fitbit is to go to the third-party site (or app) and poke around their settings to see if you can connect Fitbit. You can also browse their site for information or contact the app owner.
I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I'm aware of that. I had already connected MindBody with Fitbit, but while it says it is syncing, the classes i take via MindBody do not show up in my fitbit app. For example, I took a 2 hour dance class that I signed up with via MindBody and even after snycing fitbit and mindbody, they calss did not show up in fitbit. When I take a Peloton class, it syncs and it shows up in fitbit.
