Miles and Km mixed up

My versa/app is tracking exercise distance in miles but saying it is kms. For example: today I hiked 2.5km - I know the trail to be this long (it is a marked trail in a public park). But my watch with gps on logged is as 1.6km (while 1.6miles is 2.5km). This conversion is true for other hikes I did over previous weeks.

Hi @Carm99 - where did you set the units, in the Fitbit App, click profile photo, App Settings, Units and then sync?

Or in your web settings here and did you remember to hit Submit at the bottom and then sync?

I set the units in the app. They were set to km. Other runs/swims I have tracked in the past (months ago) had the accurate distance. 
when I set the units to miles, the length of the hike decreases further.
