Can't pair my Versa 4 anymore

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My versa 4 couldn't track any distance related exercises, would just give a time and no accurate distance or speed. Followed instructions from one of these posts to reset factory settings on watch, now it's disconnected from the Fitbit app and the app cannot reconnect to it again so can't set the watch up. Tried turning watch and phone on and off, tried uninstalling the app, reinstalling and updating and still nothing works.

Hi there, @JB2818. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 4.

In addition to the steps you've done so far, please try the following in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

Before trying the above, please be aware that most Fitbit devices store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data. Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. Nevertheless, if your Fitbit device was unpaired from your Fitbit account during this period of time, neither the 7 days can be recovered or restored.

I have tried these instructions several times but still not working.

The Fitbit device gets as far as asking for a language then displaying an instruction screen for downloading the app and connecting. The above instructions don't work when the device is on either of those screens.

Initially my phone detects the device is there and ask if I want to set it up, but when I follow this to the Fitbit app it never gets past the search for the device, always reverting to "device not found make sure it is charging screen).

I have also then tried searching for the Fitbit through my phone's Bluetooth but it cannot find it.

I have now also tried holding the button on the side of the watch to reset it. It displays the Fitbit logo flashing several times followed by a large red X.

Have you removed the tracker from your phones BT? This is the only way to unpair a tracker. Removing from the app, will only remove the tracker from your account, and should be one of the last things tried. (I've only done this once in the last 8 years)

If it is an Android phone. Hold your finger on the fitbit icon. Tap I. This brings you to the Fitbit app settings. From here tsk storage, tap clear cache. You could clear data, which logs you out.

Shut down both the tracker and the phone. This is the only way to guarantee a hardware restart.

Now use the app to setup the tracker. The Android app may even detect the Versa 4 and prompt you to install.
