Can’t see heart rate during exercise

When walking my Versa 4 auto- recognises it, and shows lots of live stats but not heart rate. How do I see my heart rate during exercise? Also, how do I look at the Home Screen during exercise (to check total steps for the day, for example) without ending the exercise? As soon as I try to navigate away from the live exercise stats it asks if I want to end the exercise.

@Mmoo57   Your screen has a top, middle, and bottom stat.  The Walk shortcut has distance as the top and elapsed time at the bottom.  The middle stat has 12 available options.  Heart rate is there.  It's very easy to miss it with all the tapping and swiping to find it.  You can customize all three stats, but my first recommendation is remove excess stats from the middle stat.

  • Short press the button and open the Exercise app -- or swipe left/right to your Exercise tile and tap on All
  • Select Walk, then swipe up on the tiny "^" on the bottom of the screen
  • Swipe up to the Stats section and tap on it
  • Toggle off everything you don't need to see -- for example, you already have distance and elapsed time and you don't need them twice
  • I don't care about pace when walking unless I'm seriously power walking

I think this will clean up the screen for you.  I'm sorry, but you can't navigate away to see your total steps for the day while using the Exercise app.
