My cardio load updates with all activity I undertake other than swimming, which for some reason continually shows zero despite showing active mins, distance, heart rate for the workout. Any ideas? 🤔

That’s an interesting away around it I guess. Unfortunately my Fitbit records the swim automatically - and it also definitely records a heart rate for the duration as my zone minutes varies according to how fast and far I swim. So why this can’t produce a fairly accurate load I just don’t know. I mean I have done over 600 zone minutes in 4 days and I’m under training????

My heart rate is still tracked during swimming, as it shows in my stats at the end for zone minutes. If I don't start my tracker, it automatically starts an elliptical workout and shows significantly less calories than starting a swim workout does.

load, that always shows zero regardless of the active minutes. I can remove
the cardio load tile but I still get constant reminders what my cardio load
should be for the day and how I am at risk of under training when I've swam
for nearly an hour. Very frustrating.

I agree, these constant reminders are so frustrating! I have lodged a query but for some reason I can’t get a response…..

Hi everybody ! Welcome to the community! Thank you for your messages and efforts.
When you swim, no heart rate is measured. Therefore, no cardio load is measured.
You can read more about this here: What are cardio load and load target?

Hi Juan
it is very interesting that Fitbit keeps saying that no heart rate is measured. Why do we get a trace and zone minutes if this is the case? I can send many screenshots of the activity measured when I swim. Are you telling us that this is completely inaccurate or made up? This leaves me very confused about the purpose of the Fitbit claiming it measures swims if it is useless.

I can concur with all other users. Almost everything I do from pottering around to gardening to housework etc register a cardio load of some sort but a strong 64 length swim twice per week gives zero. What a load of nonsense. According to fit bit the following day after my swims I'm at risk of undertaking. Whereas a day or two in the garden and I'm suddenly at risk of over training. It's the single most utterly useless ' upgrade' to Fitbit. I totally ignore it because it's patently useless.
---
So that's the reason it's useless for swimmers. Fab. So it's officially useless for a fairly common form of excersise that many users do and no apologies or platitudes or assurances that it's a work in progress to put it right. Laughable really.
---
Absolutely not the point. Of course swimming should be recorded and recognised as part of your weekly cardio load score. What's the point in having the score if your main excersise is swimming and you have to delete it? The weekly cardio score therefore tells you nothing. In fact it's worse than useless because you're " at risk of then overtraining".

I have to say that something that is frustrating me know is this constant message from Fitbit that “no heart rate is measured while you swim”. They say that the monitor is deactivated. @JuanFitbit @If this is the case why do I get a reading for my heart rate in the app when I swim. I activate exercise-swimming on my device, I get minutes swum, distance swum, calories burnt, zone minutes and can see my heart rate in the trace for the day. If it is not actually reading my heart rate where does all this data come from? If it’s not from me, is it completely useless? I cannot say that any of the FitBit responses have been useful at all and I am now very tempted to migrate to an alternative device…..

If this is the case then please let me remove cardio load entirely as a measurement, and that includes the messages that accompany it, as this is a completely useless measurement for swimmers and I am definitely not at risk of under training.
