Difference in tracking info

Hi, can anyone explain why sometimes I get different data when I'm auto tracking walks. I've never used my watch to start a walk and I don't have GPS on. Most of the time when it tracks it shows time, calories burned, active zone and heart rate. Sometimes though my watch will vibrate to say it's auto tracked a walk and then I get distance, pace, active zone and heart rate. TIA

Hello @rsmith_20 and welcome to the Community.  The Versa 4 and Sense 2 have two different features for certain automatic tracking.  One is called SmartTrack.  SmartTrack can recognize: walk, run, outdoor bike, elliptical, sports, aerobic workout, and swimming.  SmartTrack doesn't report a distance in the exercise details, but the distance gets added to your daily total.  The other is Walk Detect and it is part of the Exercise app.  When this feature activates, it will give you GPS distance if you have GPS on.  If GPS is off, the distance is steps x stride length.  The Versa 4 and Sense 2 have Walk, Run, and Bike Detect.

It sounds like your walks are tracked by SmartTrack some of the time and Walk Detect the rest of the time.  Walk Detect is new with the Versa 4 and Sense 2.  When I got my Sense 2, I turned the Walk Detect off.  Almost all of my walks are familiar routes, so SmartTrack is OK for me.  If you want to turn Walk Detect off, please do the following: press the button on your Versa 4 (short press) > select your Exercise app > Walk > swipe up on the tiny "^" at the bottom of the screen > swipe up to Walk Detect and toggle it off.

I'm turning my Walk Detect back on to see if I get the same experience as you.  I'm a fellow user, but I think there should be a priority for one feature over the other.  Sounds like Fitbit needs some feedback on this.
