Do the additional exercises on the versa 4 really matter?

I am looking into buying a fitbit smart watch and I don't know if I should buy the versa 3 or versa 4. Versa 4 has more exercises available but it lacks 3rd party app support which is very important for me. So I want to ask, is the difference important? Does it really matter and is noticable?

@Suieq15 extra modes are nothing more but labels and icons. They don't bring anything sport specific. You mentioned climbing so on S2/V4 watches it doesn't add things like grades, attempts, ascent/descent, rest/climb breakdown etc. It's generic Workout with new name and icon. On Versa 3, you may as well track Workout and rename it to Indoor Climbing (Versa 4 doesn't support outdoor climbing). When I had Sense 2, I used new Indoor Rowing exercise just to find out exactly the same thing - it' Workout with new icon and label. Eventually, I continued tracking rowing as Workout. Also, without proper software that allows grouping activities by type and analyse data based on that makes new labels rather useless.

Hi @Suieq15 - having the features available on the Versa 3, as opposed to the Versa 4, is probably more beneficial than a few auto detected exercises, given that you can add your exercise anyway. There is no Google Assistant, music support or 3rd party apps on the Versa 4 and it costs more.

What do the exercise modes actually do? Also can I just add more exercises? For example in versa 4 there is climbing, can I add that?
