Over the past two days, my Versa 4 has started turning itself off periodically throughout the day… Yesterday it did it 10+ times. It also won’t track exercise. When I start an exercise, it runs for less than a minute, and then ends itself. I’ve tried it with multiple different exercises and had the same results. It also isn’t tracking my heart rate correctly, every time it turns itself off the heart rate drops to the mid 60’s and takes a while to correct itself. Yesterday I ran 6 miles and ended the day with 4 zone minutes. Today I did stadium stairs and couldn’t get my heart rate to even get into the Fat Burn zone. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this?

Yes. Same issues to a T. Just spent 20 minutes in an online chat with customer support that got me nowhere. I’m ready to return it and switch to an Apple Watch…or get another versa 2…no issues with that one.

Hi @marajanek - for the exercise stopping issue, see this post from @sparkles4 .
If it is just the display going off, not the watch itself, pull down the watch face to get to Quick Settings and check all icons are off, you can also extend the display timeout in watch Settings.
If the watch turns off, try changing the clock face, though it should normally restart by itself if the face is the cause.
As regards HR recent watch models have a problem with getting accurate results when moving or exercising but does better at rest.
There are quite a few things that can take a while to register correctly after a restart.

Hey, I have the same problem With my new fitbit Versa 4. Did you find a solution for the problem why the watch automatically stops the exercise at any time?

I have a Sense 2 and I too am having an issues with exercise crashing. Temporary solution is turn off Bluetooth just before you set up your exercise on your device. Keep it off until you are finished.
I am thinking that if other Fitbit devices are having this issue, then it's an issue with Fitbit not the devices.

Started less than 2 weeks ago. Was working fine when I first got it three weeks ago. If the versas and sense are having this problem. Its Fitbit not the devices. I have contacted them by chat, so they know about it. Hopefully they will fix the bug. Yea I don't like turning off Bluetooth either.

Since the last firmware update, the exercise app on my Versa 4 will crash randomly.
I have changed watch faces, factory reset and repaired the device and the issue persists.
The only fix I have found is I have to shut Bluetooth off while tracking an exercise and then stopping the exercise at the end and then re enabling Bluetooth on my phone and sync. This stops the crash.
Thus isn't ideal, I can't use my Bluetooth ear buds or any other device while exercising its very inconvenient.
Is this going to be fixed anytime soon?

@SunsetRunner if this is indeed a root cause (or part of the cause) then instead turning bluetooth off you may try to disable "Nearby devices" permission for Fitbit app and enable it when you want to sync. That on Android. On iOS I don't know. It's still a workaround but at least you can keep your bluetooth on.

I just want to update this thread:
With the most recent Fitbit mobile app on Android:
Fitbit app version 3.82.fitbit-mobile
Versa 4 firmware version 61.20001.184.52
The exercise app on the Versa 4 (and I assume Sense 2) will crash anytime it bluetooth syncs with the device while an exercise is active.
This bug is easily reproduceable by starting an exercise activity on the Versa 4 or Sense 2 and then syncing the Fitbit app manually which will result in the exercise screen disappearing and going back to the clock face.
The only work around right now is to disable bluetooth when logging an exercise activity since the ability to turn off the all day sync option was turned off.
I do believe that this bug was introduced with the Fitbit 3.82 app update that was pushed out in May.
It also appears another bug with this app update involves with errors installing clock faces that will result in the device rebooting every time it syncs due to incomplete clock face install. This behavior seems to manifest itself mainly after a factory reset and requires installing a non-Fitbit created clock face and unpairing and repairing the device multiple times until the gallery asks you if you wish to continue installing apps that did not complete, and telling it "no" stops the constant restarting as long as you leave the clock faces alone.
I am going to test rolling back to older versions of the Android Fitbit app from other sources until I find the version that did not have these bugs. Once I find the correct older app version, I will post it here for people who wish to roll back and avoid these glitches.

I just want to update, I discovered the root cause of my issue. It was my Fitbit Account was corrupted.
I.attempted to pair my Fitbit on a family members Iphone instead of my S22 and same behavior, exercise app crashing when sync, device randomly restarting itself. I ended up finding it was trying to install all sorts of watch faces i never heard of and of course these were failing in the back ground no matter how many times I factory reset and cleared and reset the app it persists.
I found a post on reddit of someone else having the same problem. In their case logging out of the Fitbit app, factory reset the device, create a new Fitbit account, login to new fitbit account, pair device, problem is resolved. Watch works perfect now. I already scheduled my old account for deletion, but something on my data in the old account on the cloud was corrupted.
I.hope this post helps someone else in the future. Glad my fitbit is working again 😁😀
