Hi @Shakwhak - have a look at "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in the iOS or Android app forums where you will see more fully the issues.
Unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with this version officially. Though some tweaks are already mentioned there. It could take months to get this initial test version (requiring reworking) to anywhere near how the previous version was.

I feel the same way – Google / Fitbit has incrementally updated this app several times over the past few weeks, and every new version is worse than the one before it. I solved the problem earlier today by purchasing a Vivoactive 5. The Garmin app is a HUGE improvement.
