Hourly Activity times not changing correctly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

At 1am today BST changed to GMT in the UK. It moved back one hour. In the app or on my dashboard on the Fitbit website I cannot change the hourly activity range. It has set the parameters at 4am - 1pm! Reading through the previous threads this appears to have been a problem for others in previous years but the posters add that the problem rectified on the following day! Should we always have to wait every time the clocks move back or forwards? Before posting I had already refreshed the app, logged out and back in and so on. Now frustrated! Help please.

Hello @JulieYorkshire and welcome to the Community.  Sorry, but this happens every year, twice a year, when countries go back and forth between their standard time and summer time.  I've used a Fitbit for over 10 years and get to experience this (again) next week in the US.

I normally track my hourly steps from 9am till 6pm, this morning I noticed that the display was showing 7am to 4pm.  I attempted to adjust and save but regardless of what I input the data displayed is nonsense.  I can change on the desktop but this doesn’t change the details on the app.  We did have our clocks change today from summertime by 1 hour, I wonder if this has caused some issue.  Anybody having the same issue?  I’m in the U.K.

Hi @LZeeW and thanks for your reply. I've not noticed it before, hopefully tomorrow normal service will resume! I'd have hoped after 10 years it could have been sorted but maybe my expectations of the Fitbit folks are too high 😁 I decided to change my profile pic but that doesn't appear to update either 🙄 Have a good day!

@SenseLESS12  Everyone in the UK is having this problem.  Fitbit has never been able to solve this glitch in its programming.  It will fix itself tomorrow.  I've worn a Fitbit for over 10 years.  I get to go through this for the 21st time next week, when the US goes back to standard time.  Just go with the flow.

@Carriejane  You can't fix today's hours.  Just be patient and it will be correct tomorrow.

It’s the same in Norway. Hopefully it will fix it self tomorrow when we are back to 24 hour days… 😊

@JulieYorkshire i changed my clocks this morning and i noticed my fitbit hourly activity all messed up. mine is set from 11am to 7pm but it was saying 10am to 6pm. i changed it ok but all my goals were messed up not showing i had completed 8 out of 8 on most and some a bit less. i changed it then switched my ipad off n on and refreshed the app and now my goals are ok again. however the graph isn't showing properly on the app. so in this screenshot you can see i have 8 out of 8, but its only showing 6 of them because the start and end time are 9am and 4pm???fitbit.jpg

Clocks went back last night from BST to GMT. Watch has correct time but have a superimposed message saying “clock error go to the Fitbit app and try another clock”.
The problems are my activity and sleep settings. My usual hourly activity is set from 09:00 to 21:00. Because of the time change it became 08:00 to 20:00. I am unable to change it via the app, it now seems to be stuck on 06:00 to 18:00. I can change it on the website, but it doesn’t stay changed on the app. I’ve reset my clock to “London” in settings.
I am also unable to change my sleep settings, I can set a goal, but when I return to the main sleep settings, they are not the times I just set!

@LottieMW this is an issue with the Fitbit app. It happens when the time changes and it's been like this for years. There doesn't seem to be a way to fix it but, if you can just wait until tomorrow, everything will be right again.

Well I have been able to reset everything ok…BUT…still have the annoying alert message superimposed on my screen…

Appears to have sorted itself out this morning and I have managed to change the hourly activity back and it's stayed in the range I want. My frustrations of yesterday diminished! Still can't change my profile picture but hey I don't suppose I can expect everything 🤣

@LottieMW if you force stop the app and clear the cache, that error message may be cleared.

Yesterday, I had 15,000 steps, and so far today, it's 14,000 +, and on both days, I collected those steps in a number of bursts. But for both days, it says I have zero minutes of activity. Even though it says I took a 25 minute walk at 7:03, it says I've been inactive all day!

I am now having this problem today. I change the hours to 5am to 2pm and after I click set goal, it goes to 2am to 11am.
