I have tried to follow online directions to turn off exercise detection on my Versa 4 (by setting the drop downs for all the relevant exercises to “Ignored” on both the web site and in the app). However, this seems to have no effect! I called up support yesterday, and they claim it should work. I absolutely hate it when my walks are detected and the watch enters its special exercise mode. Has anyone successfully been able to turn this off, and if so, how?
Thank you!

I think I know what is happening. For whatever type activity is being auto-recognized, say "Run", on your watch go to the Exercise App on your watch and select Run, tap Run but before tapping Start note the little arrow pointing upward at the bottom. Swipe up from that arrow to see options pertaining to that exercise type only. One of those options will be "Run Detect". You want that off. I expect that somehow got set on. I'm not sure but perhaps that "run detect" operates separately from the other "auto recognized activity" that I think you turned off. Besides "run", there is also similar for "walk" and "bike".

Like KINZA I couldn’t figure out how to turn that vibration buzzing sound (when walking about 15 minutes) that when looked at the watch would state WALKING. HAS BEEN DETECTED. Then I would have to find the part to touch END to stop the stopwatch. This not only would stop me from my walk but was also annoying. Like KINZA I also found how to correct this on the dashboard website - turn all the exercises to IGNORE. This did not help. Your fix worked! I just took my first walk (in 3 months since I got the VERSA 4) peacefully without that WALKING DETECTED! Thanks Johnny.

@Kaisercat Appreciate hearing back when able to help someone. Sometimes it seems the default settings are not always what we might have wanted, and difficult to realize to turn off.
