I purchased a new fitbit versa 4 which happened to be a “lemon” so to speak after performing troubleshooting with the fitbit representative the issue of not syncing with the device remained. The representative decided a replacement was the next logical move, however, I found out the replacement being sent is a refurbished unit rather than a new device. I called fitbit support again and I was informed they are unable to do anything regarding the matter as they can only issue refurbished units as replacements. Now tell me in what world where I purchase a “NEW” device from the fitbit website and receive a defective product, it is replaced with an “USED” and “REFURBISHED” unit. How is that fair to the consumer that are paying for a new product but then ends up with a used one for the same god **ahem** price!!! Refer fitbit to friends and family?? HELL NO!! in fact I will go out of my way to let prospective buyers know about the major flaw in fitbits replacement policy as the consumer is quite literally swindled.

Hi @GuiltyCrown I've been on these forums and used Fitbit products for over ten years. The warranty information (click to view) has always stated that a person might receive a refurbished replacement. From what Fitbit Moderators, who are employees of the company have posted, a refurbished device often is a unit which was returned for being the wrong color or style. It is checked out by their people before it's set aside to be a replacement. Many times the item you want is just a high demand, so they only have refurbished units to send out.
