My experience with Versa 4

I’ve only had my Fitbit for a few days and I keep experiencing issues. I’m seriously thinking of returning this thing. The first day I got it I realized there’s an issue with the brightness setting (max brightness does not work, only normal and dim seem to work no matter what I’ve tried). Additionally the first night I used my watch I woke up in the middle of the night to a very bright watch face that would NOT turn off. I kept rotating my wrist or putting my palm over the face to see if it would turn off and the screen only glitched off for a second and remained on. So I had to sync my data on the app first and restart the watch. I thought okay maybe this is just a one time thing. Well last night my watch did the same exact thing so I figured maybe it will turn off in a few minutes on its own, so I went back to sleep and woke up to a completely dead watch since it never turned off (my battery was at 70% when I woke up to it being on). I cannot keep this watch if it will continue getting stuck being ON in the middle of the night. If it becomes a regular thing I’d never be able to use it since I’d have to wake up to it being dead in the mornings and I’ll have to constantly recharge when I just don’t have the time to because my day is just starting and it should still be charged. I will just return and have to save for a garmin or something else. Not sure what happened to fitbits but they seem like they’re just not in it for quality or longevity anymore.

I had the Fitbit charge 5 just a few years ago and I loved it but I lost it, I then got a garmin and did not like the tracking features as much as Fitbit. I recently gave my garmin to my husband and decided to buy a new versa 4 a few days ago but it has been a horrible experience, will be looking into garmin again, sadly.

Hi @SunsetRunner - covering the face with the palm of your hand should turn the display off, if not try holding the watch button for 10 seconds till it blanks or vibrates and wait for the logo to appear and for it to start, in case it has got confused.

The brightness issue is known but may be cured with a later firmware update (194.86) that may come in a few days if you don't have that version.

However it is a good Idea to set a watch sleep schedule to stop it waking the display in the night.

The Versa 4 doesn't have all the features of earlier watches and you may experience syncing issues with the new V4 Fitbit App which is not as user friendly as the previous release or have all the features previously available.

If you intend to use the watch for monitoring heart rate during exercises you may meet with limited success, as can be seen in the forums.
