Notifications are not coming through my Versa 4

I had a Fitbit Versa 3 and the watch stopped showing my calls and text messages. I now have a Versa 4 and my calls show, but my text messages don't. I'm at my wits end and I'm ready to return the watch for a Galaxy watch. I've been in all the notification screens, the phone, the app, all show enabled, but I still can't get my messages to show.

Hi there, @ChaunWilson. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is not showing your text messages. I understand where your concern is coming from. I will do my best to help you with this.

By any chance you're an iOS user? If so, are you referring to iMessages? I also have an iPhone and had a similar trouble with those messages. However, the way I fixed it was by trying to toggle the iMessage setting; general > Messages > iMessage and verified the "Show Previews" was on "Always". All good with my text messages now.

If the steps above doesn't work, please make sure you've followed all troubleshooting steps provided here Troubleshooting quick tips for iPhones

Hi @Staceyst754 - have you tried a pull down on the watch face to get to Quick Settings and turn off all the icons and also hold the watch button for 10 seconds till it blanks or vibrates and wait for the logo to appear and for it to start?

There can be syncing issues with the new V4 Fitbit App which can stop notifications also. You may have to troubleshoot the Fitbit App to get it to sync and work properly.

There is nothing you can do about the appearance of the Fitbit App.

@Staceyst754 Thanks for stopping by and for the details provided in your post. I understand where your concern is coming from and how you must be feeling. We're here to help!

As @Guy_ has suggested, please check whether your Versa 4 is in sleep mode. When sleep mode is on:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders are muted.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • The screen stays dark when you turn your wrist. To wake your tracker, firmly tap the screen twice.
  • The sleep mode icon illuminates in quick settings.

If the above doesn't describe your issue, please see Troubleshooting quick tips for iPhones and/or Why are notifications delayed or missing? depending on your phone.

Thanks all! Unfortunately, in my frustration, I returned my Fitbit Versa 4.  Both my Versa 3 and Versa 4 are not showing my calls or text notification. I have a Samsung Galaxy s23 phone and I don't know if it's a setting. I've gone through all of the settings, it's showing them on. Right now, my watch is for the time and steps. There's definitely some disconnect with my phone, I'm just at my wits end.

@ChaunWilson - having multiple phones and devices can be a bit of an issue.

To resolve this remove any Fitbit watch Bluetooth entries from the phone.

Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active Fitbit window and as it's Android, clear the Fitbit storage cache and force stop it.

Turn off any other phones or tablets or watches and restart the phone and watch.

Login and reset up the watch as a replacement. This sorts out any connection issues.

In the app go to the device notifications, and also app notifications inside, and make sure all apps you need are selected. This may have been neglected if you changed phone or did troubleshooting.
