Returning Versa 4

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recieved my versa 4 yesterday. Got it set up, already had to do a warranty claim for a bad watch band but now everything I'm seeing says this watch is less functional to my versa 2 (which I have already reset and gifted to my daughter).

I'm willing to give it a few days but has anyone gone through the return process and not gotten hit with a restocking fee?  The box is open, I have set it up and am wearing it. Can I still successfully return it for a full refund? Anyone else considered sending theirs back?

Hello @Northwoodsmom3

Did you purchase it in the Fitbit Store here online? If so it states there is a 45 day money back guarantee on devices and accessories. The link below states These Terms of Sale (“Terms”) apply to all orders placed by you through Fitbit’s mobile app, website, or via phone with Fitbit’s customer support (collectively the “Fitbit Store”).

I just got mine yesterday and so far it’s awesome but I understand that what works for some may not work for all.

😉I hope that answers your question. Please let me know.

Yes, I read the policy that's why I'm reaching out to this forum to see who has gone through this.

The return policy says 45 days but requires original box and everything. Which I have but usually that's grey area for them to try to tell me it wasn't returned to their specifications and since I have to pay to ship it back plus possibly get hit with their 15% restocking fee all for them using what seems like false advertising. I want to know from others.

Glad you like yours. I thought I was getting an updated version from my versa 2 with additional features...that's usually how it goes. When you buy an iPhone 14 from an 11 you know you are getting a newer version with more features. If this versa 4 is a lite version or completely different they should advertise it that way and change the name.

@SunsetRunner I'm struggling to understand what is so awesome about it? At least compared with the Versa 3. Apart from the physical button it seems to be worse.

I mean it's great you like yours, but let's at least be honest/realistic here. Why would someone "upgrade" from a Versa 3 in its current state?

My wife "upgraded" her Versa 3 to the Sense 2, and the Sense 2 was actually worse than the Versa 3. So I can't imagine the Versa 4 being any better. We returned it, complete waste of time.

What gets me is what google is doing is so obvious and insulting. They're trying to protect the pixel watch when it is an entirely different market from what the sense/versa is. They purposely downgraded the fitbit watches to make the underwhelming pixel look better. Wi-fi and music controls are table stakes for watches in 2022, yet google thinks their customers will be just fine with the lack of these key features. It would be more honest if google just shuttered fitbit instead of this slow deliberate closing down of the company.

Hello @--Smeagol--

I am being honest/realistic here in my particular situation and the needs that “I” want to be met in my Fitbit tracker. I’m not sure where you got the assumption that I upgraded from a Versa 3. I upgraded from a three year old Versa 2.

Any upgrade from a three year old tracker (like my old Versa 2) is going to be a nice upgrade. But again, I really think it depends on what features you really rely on in your tracker. There are some features I don’t bother with because it’s not where my focus lands in my fitness journey.

Update @--Smeagol-- ……I failed to mention that I don’t like the watchbands that came with the Versa 4. I fear it certainly won’t last very long so that was a downgrade for me. And, I prefer the wristband attachment on the Versa 2 better using the pin method. The attachment on the Versa 4 seems precarious and iffy. Lastly I preferred the Versa 2 charger over the charger that comes with Versa 4.  😃 See….I can be honest

I'm not assuming you upgraded from a Versa 3, I mearly brought it up as most would agree it is more feature rich and can be had for a big discount. So I was interested to see why someone would choose the Versa 4 over the Versa 3 considering they are both currently available to buy brand new. Although I think there is a strong argument that it's not even an upgrade over the Versa 2, losing music capabilities completely. Then again it seems regression is the name of Fitbit's game!

Anyway I'm glad to see that at least one person is happy. Honestly yours is the first post I've seen that is actually positive. Which is why I was quite intrigued. As you say, whatever floats your boat.

Good day to you.

I also was a previous Versa 2 owner and am hugely disappointed with this “upgrade” I was very excited for the built in GPS, could finely leave my phone at home on a run…but it wasn’t meant to be. Instead, Fitbit strips the Versa 4 of any sort of music storage or 3rd party music apps (Spotify, pandora, deezer). Why??? I can’t even control music on my iPhone as was capable with the Versa 2. At least, I can still have my strava account on the watch though…nope just kidding, they eliminated that too. What a piece of junk they’re peddling. Most companies add features when a new product comes out, not Fitbit, they remove everything useful and scam everyone by adding a 4 to the end of the name. I wasted an hour setting this up and playing around with it, then immediately processed a return. I hope everyone else does the same. What a joke

I have worn mine for a week and just can't get used to it. I will be returning mine as well. I'll do some more research and put my money towards something else with more functionality.

I mailed it back close to two weeks ago. Tracking status says they received it on Monday. Probably will get the refund here in another day or two.

Luckily, I did not get the Versa 4 before I knew my 3 was better. Google is totally de-featuring the Fitbits so the Pixel looks better and performs better. Fine but PLEASE take the battery tech and give us more than 24hrs on the Pixel!! Google is messing up!!!!

Thank you for your thoughts and statement. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!! So sad I've been loyal to Fitbit for 7 or so years and it's crappy that Google is burning Fitbit to the ground. I have a Pixel 6 pro so I'm team Google but they screwed over Fitbit on this one.

THIS. I started with the Fitbit Charge back in the days. I had 5 or 6 Fitbit devices but this was my last. I returned my Versa 4 and will switch to another manufacturer.

I am returning the one we just purchased for our daughter who turned twelve. Nowhere did I see when purchasing that the Versa was for adults. We can't link to her account (meant to upgrade from her Ace) so I DuckDuckGo'd it and found a plethora of comments complaining about this. It really is a poor business model to limit the tech to adults. We are going with Apple, to H and Back with Fitbit and G.
