Sleep Data Update: Beyond horrible

Why? Why would a team sit around and collectively decide that the new update design for the sleep tracker is actually user friendly? Are they actually using it? This new update is so bad it’s pushing me to look into the Oura Ring. Seriously… FIX this mess! Marketing 101: know your audience

My fitbit versa 4 now tells me I only 2  hours sleep?  Really???

Totally agree. What are you doing Google? I thought it was good news when you bought Fitbit but clearly not. Despite multiple Fitbit hardware failures over 7 years, and the need to buy a new one every year or so, I stayed with Fitbit because of the sleep tracking, despite the pull to move to Apple Watch. The data was hardly ever right in the mornings, but some simple edits to sleep time corrected to data to an accurate and valuable view. Now, it looks worse, and attempts to edit sleep times doesn’t work properly and shows completely different times than what I edited. My next watch, when my Fitbit dies again, as it does, will be an Apple Watch, unfortunately.

This is what happens when you have a team of programmers and marketing folks running the show. Crappy output that’s out of touch with users.

I definitely am looking to do the same🤨

I couldn’t agree more. This new sleep data look it’s the worst! My wife’s app is still the cleaner looking version and I am so sad to see her sleep easily and mine in this weird non-graph looking thing.

Moderator edit: word choice.

I got a new Versa 4 - it tracked my sleep for 15 days and now the last two nights - nothing.  and when I got to self-edit it didn't accept what I put in only what it already has.  it says 8 hours now.  No way I slept 8 hours.  I also hate the new design for sleep tracks - it was better before. I mostly got the app for sleep tracking so I am very bummed. I started to go with Apple - but I don't like that you have to charge it so often - now I wish I had though

I believe the lack of sleep data this morning is because they are changing what they share to make you join premium to see the same data that was free before!
I have been a loyal Fitbit user and like someone else said even though they break every year or so I have continued to purchase.

my next tracker will be an Apple Watch because all they want you to do is join premium!  This is a shame very disappointed in Google and Fitbit!

I find that when I wake up on Friday morning (example, it could be any day), the app will have added my sleep from Thursday 9:30 - 11:45 to Thursday's sleep.  And my Friday sleep will show midnight - 5:30 AM.  So then I have to go back to Thursday and delete the sleep log, then go back to Friday and add the time there.

PLUS the deleting and editing of sleep logs is 6x harder than it used to be.  PLUS, the graphic itself is very poorly done, and it's harder to see when I woke up enough to roll over or got up for a few minutes to use the bathroom.  I've posted it somewhere already, but this is easily the WORST update Fitbit has EVER done.

With the new terribly tragic sleep update, you have to go to the day before and delete that sleep log before you can add it back to the day you actually woke up.

I agree that the update to the sleep tracking is terrible - just wanted to mention that you now have to go to the day before to delete a sleep log that should be showing up on the next days' night's sleep.  Then you can edit to add that sleep.  It's stupid and beyond ridiculous.

I totally agree!  I even bought an Apple Watch but the daily charging requirement and horrible sleep tracking caused so much complaining that my boyfriend bought me a new Fitbit. This new sleep tracking is awful. Apple Watch may be my next purchase. Please Fitbit, read your forums and go back to a useful sleep tracker.

I hate the new sleep log.  The original one was so clear to read and my fave section on my Fitbit app to check my sleep log.   I am shocked they have changed it to a version not as good ?  And why has the Fitbit app disappeared from App Store ?   A shame but I will be looking at other versions of smart watches / apps now.

So is the original sleep log still there on premium ?  I hate the version I can see now.   Nowhere near as good as the previous sleep log

I agree. The sleep log graphics are awful.  Who thought that a difficult to read, unattractive, graph was an improvement?  Change for change sake is not a good idea.  I looked in to getting a different tracker, but was reluctant because I had just paid my yearly  $80.00 for Fit Bit Premium and saw that there is no refund.  Very disappointing.
