Then when I went through the instructions profile -device - wallet it then gave me the option for Google pay and to set up pin and card. Haven't used it yet but this is the furthest I've got with trying to set it up so fingers crossed. So try signing out and back In. I had to reset my password as I had forgotten it.
This did it for me! After I logged back in, I selected my wallet and it spent about 30 seconds "checking my wallet" before I saw the option for Google wallet. Thank you!

After switching to google wallet, have you been able to successfully add/verify your card(s)? That's where I'm stuck. Tried 5 different cards with no success.

I was told that my Debit and Credit cards from 1 bank weren't supported and to contact my bank. A second visa card from a different institution did add and verify. I am going to contact my bank as it was my primary CC that didn't add

I should add that the credit card that was successfully added was from an institution that previously allowed the use of Fitbit pay. In fact the confirmation notification that I got back from the institution indicated that I had added a card to Fitbit Pay and not Google Pay. My bank (Canadian) that denied the cards previously didn't support Fitbit Pay. My guess is that the automated setup/connection for the banks is still seeing these as Fitbit pay and not Google pay so are denying the addition of the cards . I'm hoping this will change at some point??

That would make sense for my situation since none of my cards were previously supported by fitbit pay which is why I was excited when I saw the versa 4 use Google pay/wallet instead

Thanks very much. This did the trick for me.

Yes. I never had any bank cards that were supported by fitbit pay. All my cards are standard UK banks I had 5 cards in my Google wallet on my mobile phone. When I registered Google pay on my fitbit app it prompted me to set up pin before allowing me to see the 5 cards I have in Google wallet. I then had to click on one of them to add to the Google fitbit wallet. It asked again for name address and mobile number and 3 dig number from back of card, then Scroll down accept bank terms etc and then it said contacting your bank. Then bank text me a verification code to enter and that was it. It seamed to take forever as if it was stuck at one point so I just hit back arrow on phone and it had went through hope this helps.

I was able to add one of the two credit cards I already had in Google Wallet on my phone to Google Wallet on Fitbit. For the other, I got a message indicating that the bank didn't support watches. Somewhat disappointing, but at least there's one that works. FWIW the one that works for me is PC Financial MC. The one that didn't was Scotiabank Visa. Both Canadian. Eh.

@LizzyFitbit is this firmware truly using Google Pay/Google Wallet? I have tried to set up 5 different cards that show as supported with no success. The card verification seems like it's still using Fitbit Pay which none of my cards were supported for that digital wallet.

Glad you managed to get at least one of tour cards onto the watch wallet. The one I got on was rbs/natwest Mastercard. I haven't tried my others yet.

It looks like that Google Wallet on Versa4 is not the same as Google Wallet on WearOS.
Out of 2 cards that work just fine in my phone Google Wallet and Galaxy Watch 5 (which is WearOS) Google Wallet, none was added to Versa4 Google Wallet (even though one of these cards officially supports Fitbit Pay).
I was able to add a new (3rd) card to Versa4 Google Wallet and the confirmation from the bank mentions Fitbit Pay instead of Google Pay (even though I have never used Fitbit Pay).
It seems seems like current Google Wallet in Versa4 is a kind of Fitbit Pay with Google Wallet UI on top of it which confuses the banks and cards that work just fine with WearOS Google Wallet don't work. Or the Google Wallet application on Versa4 is broken.
What's the plan to make Versa4 Google Wallet to work the same as WearOS Google Wallet? Id it even worth waiting?

That's my exact experience. I think if you were previously unable to add cards to Fitbit Pay because your institution didn't support it, you are facing the same situation with the new Google Pay as the bank systems are still thinking we are are using Fitbit Pay. Hopefully this is fixed with the next firmware update (and how did they not catch this in Beta testing....or are we doing that for them).

I initially thought this was my issue. I have 3 cards that I previously couldn't add to fitbit pay because they were not supported. I looked them up again today and the bank websites show that they support fitbit pay and google pay/wallet. So now I don't know what my issue is and why I can't add my cards.

Still no feature upgrade to return the music control function? Ridiculous

Agreed, still waiting for actual advertised features to work as intended (google wallet). Music and 3rd party apps also should be added back to make the versa 4 an actual smart watch and not just an expensive fitness tracker.

That is correct, the UI/UX is exactly the same as Fitbit Pay. However, when you pay via your watch, you get Google Wallet/Pay notifications on your phone as opposed to FitBit Pay notifications.

Yeah this watch seems to be utter garbage thus far. In the future, I will be going for WearOS watches only (as I am an Android user) and my wife an iPhone user will probably be getting an Apple Watch.

The last firmware update I did resulted in sudden battery problems. I’m dragging my feet about this update.
