Announcing the release of Fitbit Firmware Update 1.184.52!

 

This update should now be available to all customers! If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in How do I update my Fitbit device?. If you choose to post about your issue, provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist you.

 

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

I am also the one not able to use the credit cards from the Google Wallet on my Versa 4, even if they work perfectly fine on my mobile phone. One of the top reasons why I bought this model was to make contactless payments with Google Pay since my bank doesn't accept Fitbit Pay. Now I have learnt that Google Wallet on Fitbit is not the same as a "normal" Google Wallet despite misleading messages on the Google's and Fitbit's websites. If I had known it, I would have surely bought another device (like Garmin with his Garmin Pay). But what I find the most dissapointing is that this issue have been reported here by many people since the roll-out of this update, and there has been no clear message from Fitbit whether, and when, they are goining to do something about it. If this doesn't chage, I will definitely return it and will never recommend to anyone because of this unacceptable policy.

I came from the versa 2 and that was a very well put together device. I am appaled that they would release a product with soo many bugs. I don't think that anyone wouldve been too heartbroken if they would have waited a few more months before releasing it to sort out the google assistant and maps.

 

Even the notifications are trash. I need to fight with the gyro sensor to turn on the watch face, then by the time the notification goes through the whole animation, the screen has fallen asleep again... why can't you make notifications like the versa 2 and just display them straight up?

 

Next, how do you make a new version and lose features????? The versa 2 was able to play/control music from spotify and pandora. I was able to re-arrange tiles (but now I just have a scrolling list). I was able install cool apps (like sunset tracker, or ISS location) and none of these features are available anymore.

 

If I hadn't gotten the fitbit as a gift, I'd be returning it right about now in favour of a samsung gear that lets me:

A. Install the apps I want/need

B. Give me some level of customization to match my lifestyle

C. Has the google assistant/maps support as advertised

D. Sync frequency can be changed so that the watch will sync your stats more than once every 30 mins!!!

E. Lets me control basis bluetooth functions of my phone like play, pause, and skip

F. Doesn't burn in the screen when you use always on display

 

Comon fitbit, I am really dissapointed

This firmware is bug city:

 

1. Apps disappear from the watch (alarms, find my phone, relax - although show installed via the app) uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't bring them back

2. Google Maps is AWOL

3. Google Wallet doesn't allow cards that work with Google Wallet to work (so is it Google Wallet or just Fitbit Pay renamed to Google Wallet)

4. No Baseline temp via the Fitbit app (advised to wait 3 days, myself and other users have waited weeks, and nothing has appeared)

 

I am sure there are more, but this is what I have noticed so far. The Versa 3 was rock solid, so this is disappointing. I hope the next update will fix these issues.

Not to every ios user, I'm using iphone too and still haven't received the update yet

Google would give preference to pixel watches over other watches working on its os
