We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 210.26 for Versa 4 has been released to all our members. Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!

We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

I've had a lot of problems with tracking my heart rate since the last update.  The tracking is erratic and not in sync with actual heart rate.  I wish the update had never happened.  Everything was fine with the Versa 4 before that time.

Why is there no reply to this post for over a week? Something, or many things, have broken many watches with this update.

My Versa4 has been almost unusable since the update. Screen is hardly responsive, the watch randomly swipes around to other screens, is randomly starting exercises (and yes, I know how to disable auto detect workouts), draining bettery life, and more.

Can we get ANY word on fixing this?

Hello Lizzy Fitbit. I did the updates mentioned above several weeks ago. Unfortunately, my Versa4 had a mind of its own afterwards. I did a post about this. Recently, I lost the vibration for calls, etc. Obviously, I assumed that was the end of a wonderful Versa4 that I had loved for approximately nineteen months. It was time for charging. I have a paid premium, and this notifies me. Afterwards, I put it on my other wrist (dominant) for a few days. Now, back on the original wrist, the vibration is working. I'm receiving notifications of sms and phone calls on my Versa4. I'm happy again.

Note, as far as I'm aware I have not knowingly updated the watch myself 🤔

For the past week or so, my Versa 4 screen freezes.  I can’t change the screen at all, it won’t scroll, or respond to any touches. When I push the button it goes to a setting screen, but I can’t scroll or go into any settings. The only way to get it to respond to anything is to synch to the app.  Normally not a problem, but now have to do this upwards of 10 times a day. It’s only a little over a year old.

How do I fix this?

This update has me doing Mountain bike rides whilst sat eating my dinner.

And you still have not fixed the MAX brightness bug which has been on the Versa 4 since release. Shocking!

I use the timer on my fitbit everyday and this has stopped working since the update. It just stops without reaching the set time.

This update has literally made my versa 4 stop working. When I restart my tracker I get the little diamond shape with the blue dots and when that goes away the tracker does nothing else.

This update has been horrible. I finally got a replacement Versa 4 after my battery went from 5 days on a charge to 2 hours. I won't be updating this Versa. With that being said,my watching isn't syncing..again. I pay to have Fitbit Premium and there isn't anything worth paying for anymore. There are tons of people having issues with the update. Fix it. It's been months. What's the point of having a smart watch, if it isn't smart?!  So disappointed about the lack of integrity in this company.

My fitbit Versa 4 quit working 9/12 and only stays on if it is charging. I am trying to figure out if I should return it since it is under the one year warranty.

Update has lowered battery performance.  Before update would use about 8% from afternoon to the next morning, now using 23% over that same timeframe.  We have owned several fitbit devices.  Most of the issues seem to happen when they release an update.  You would think by now they would learn to thoroughly test a new update before releasing it.

With the refurbished watch, you aren't forced to do the update. It prompts you to,but I had the same problem you're having. After three resets on my phone and watch today,it finally synced again. Thankfully, the battery life is okay without doing the update. It's back up to 5 days.

Have you tried using it on the charger? I have the same issue but mine
works fine when connected to the charger.

I think you should absolutely return it although my sister did that and they provided a refurbished one! I don’t really think that’s the whole point of a one year guarantee do you?? I paid good money for a product that I thought would last at least a year I think it’s only right. The company gives us a brand new one.

I sure hope that once this so called update shows on my Versa 4 that it fixes all those issues. If it doesn't I like to know if I will be able to get a replacement one. I am truly frustrated, tired and upset about this whole issue. Somebody needs to let us know more about this so called update.

Ever since I updated last week, my Versa 4 keeps sporadically goes into sleep mode everyday.  It’s so annoying, b/c I look at my watch numerous times, and so many times the time won’t show up, then I see that it’s in sleep mode when I never touched that part of the watch all day, and it doesn’t stay in sleep mode when I do put that on at nite, which at times has interrupted my sleep, b/c my phone sometimes rings early in the morning, so my watch vibrated.

I updated with the 9/11 update.  My Versa4 won't turn on.  I get the flashing dotted square & then I get the red X.  I can't sync it.  I just upgraded to this in July and am very disappointed.  My wife did NOT update with the 9/11 update and her Versa4 is fine.

YouTube Music pops up every time I tap the device during an activity to pause or view data.

It is extremely annoying.

I have been struggling for days to reset my Versa 4, and I can't even get the clock to be accurate.  It varies between 2.5 hours and 1 hr. 50 minutes slow.  I have no idea what my battery level is.  Most annoyingly, it does not sync with my iPhone, as in the past.  My step count sometimes goes down.  Although I subscribe to Fitbit Premium, my sleep tracking no longer functions, my hourly activity is not accurate, and my heart monitoring is now nonexistent.  I've tried rebooting multiple ways, but if I uninstall the app, I'm afraid I will lose 5 years of data.  I was totally satisfied with the product until this latest software update.  Unless I can fix things, I'm going to be looking elsewhere.
