Versa 4 NOT tracking sleep or on APP!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi. I got a versa 4 for Christmas. Everything has been going good until early this week.  Nothing happened on my end but the tracking sleep on watch and app are not working at all.  I slept for 8 hours and it’s telling me I slept 45 minutes? Even doing it manually on the app (not wearing the watch) and it still does the same thing. There was an update on the app a week or so ago, please fix it.   Please do not give me ideas how to fix it on my end, I’ve done everything I could. Reinstall/delete my watch on the app, deleted the app on my phone, repaired it, put it in sleep mode/normal mode both has not worked with the sleep.   I personally think it is the app since the update. I have NOT had one problem with any of it  until this week.

thank you in advance and sorry if it’s too blunt but it is one of two reasons I have a watch for.

Hi @Melanie_1994 - you may be right about the app. The new V4 Fitbit App can have syncing problems and when this happens the sleep will not show up or even incorrectly.

Sleep information is a calculated function, on this model, it is not done on the watch. It seems the information may have to be uploaded from the watch to the App, uploaded to the servers, calculated, returned to the App, returned to the watch.

If anything goes wrong with these steps it doesn't work right.

The only thing you can do is ensure good watch syncing, with frequent manual syncs. So there is definitely room for improvement in this area, as others also note.

However you may get more information from the web dashboard if some of the syncing has worked.

as you can see as of mid to late January, my sleep was tracked every night, no issues. I always get between 8-10 hours of sleep.   However from late January to today it’s only tracked at least 2 days and that is putting it in manually 5-6 times before it actually stays on there. All the 45 minutes to 1 hour, I sleep a lot longer than that.  There is no reason for it to say that.  I hardly ever wake up in the middle of the night.  And I’ve been going to bed between 8pm and 11:30pm every night.  Not now 4am, 12am to 2am.  I am sleeping by then.  Today it did not count my sleep at all and I slept before 12am to 7am.

No, not every day.
some days it’ll be 1 of 5 accurate but some days are 5 of 5 on a day that it works. It always has the resting heart rate even when I’m just watching tv or reading a book- not sleeping. If that makes sense?  Today was 1 of 5.
