I have a versa 4 with fitbit version 3.87. My phone is a Samsung s23 ultra. I went into settings, typed in voice access in search. Then microphone and clicked allow on the permissions. I can respond to texts now. Hopefully this helps you.

Could you please describe if you are still receiving the "transcription error"message, or the voice reply feature doesn't work, but you don't get the error message?

Best AnswerI have version 3.87 and I still can't reply to text messages. Everything else seems to be working great. But, I had to go back signing in on my Fitbit account. When I used Google, I couldn't even get the latest update to the app.
Best AnswerThe Fitbit mobile app on my Google Pixel 6 is updated to version 3.88. The mobile app update came from the Google Play store. Also, I am running Android 14. I still can't get the device update for the Versa 4 itself and I still get the transcription error, as well as other errors that are mentioned in other threads here.
Best AnswerI'm pretty much done trying. No help from anyone, anywhere resolved anything, despite months of trying. This shouldn't be this way but unfortunately it is and it has really turned me against Google. I am one of those people that has "everything Google" but this Versa 4 issue and most importantly, the way it has been handled by Google and Fitbit has really turned me against the company in a way that I don't think is recoverable. There are other options out there and I intend to explore them all. Enough is enough already.
Best AnswerThings I have noticed. Voice to text is unstable and works only when replying to the most current message. Not sure if that is the last message from a particular sender or all senders, still playing. The Versa 4 doesn't like to share bluetooth, I have problems after my phone connects to my car. All in all there has been progress and when things work it is exactly what I wanted from Fitbit.
