Versa 4 brightness and motion wake issues

I have the Versa 4. After I set desired brightness it automatically resets to dim. I've tried EVERYTHING! I turned the watch off and back on again. I did a factory data reset multiple times. What gives? And how do I get google to address this issue?

Go to Quick Settings to check if you accidentally have Sleep Mode turned on.  That sets brightness to dim and prevents screen wake with wrist turn, among other things.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
