Versa 4 does not measure distance accurately

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am new to Versa 4, having used a Versa 2 since 2021. I thought I would move to this version, but I do not like how it tracks my steps and distance. Currently it is off a quarter mile for each mile I complete. I have started using the map my walk app just to get an accurate reading. I NEVER had this issue with my Versa 2. I have tried everything others have suggested and I’m just about ready to return this model and get another Versa 2. Not happy at all with this model right now ☹️

Hi @Debrina29, welcome to  the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help to improve the accuracy of your Versa 4. Thank you for the details provided.

Your Versa 4 uses the formula below to calculate distance. Your stride length is determined by your height and sex.

Steps x Stride Length = Distance Traveled

When you track an activity with GPS, your device calculates your distance using GPS data rather than steps. If you begin moving before you get a GPS signal, your device calculates distance using your steps until GPS connects.

If you believe your stride length may need an adjustment, track a run with GPS or measure your stride length manually. For more information, see Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

If you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, you may follow the instructions in our help article How accurate are Fitbit devices? below the section What can I do if my step count seems inaccurate?
