Versa 4 for under 13yr old

Hi. So I bought my 12 year old son a Versa for Christmas. Went to set it up yesterday and I can only pair with Fitbit Ace.

I can see there has been community discussions about this dating back to 2019. Disappointed that since this is a thing there is still no details of this on the packaging. Quite misleading.

From what I read the issue was around the creation of a fitbit account. But these days you need to sign in via a Google account which has all the protections for under 13 and parental controls etc. So why is it the Fitbit device choice is still limited? Shouldn't this be the customers choice?

Thx. Mel

Hi @Mel-  it's the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule ("COPPA") which is the law.
