Why is my versa 4 suddenly counting so many floors? Does that mean all my other data is incorrect?

I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a month. The rest of my stats seem normal but floors are way off the mark. I’ve contacted customer service about this and I have yet to have them offer a replacement despite doing all their troubleshooting multiple times and it now being weeks without any success. My watch is only 6 months old and I bought the additional warranty and they still won’t give me a functioning watch despite none of the troubleshooting working. Good luck

Hi @MaMaine - don't worry, the floor count is essentially just information and doesn't affect other values.
But if it bothers you get the watch replaced under warranty.
And @Fjord1989 - insist on replacement if it annoys you, the watch has a faulty pressure sensor also.

I’ve been insisting for weeks and customer service for this company has gone horribly downhill. This will be my last Fitbit. The longest I’ve gone with a functioning watch is barely 2 years. I’ve stuck with Fitbit despite their watches breaking every 6 months to a year because until now they had good customer service and getting a replacement was easy.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @MaMaine and @Fjord1989!
Fitbit devices are using barometric sensors to track height differences based on atmospheric pressure. Your devices register 1 floor when you climb about 10 feet or 3 meters while moving.
Barometric sensors however can be affected by gusts of wind or weather changes thus leading to incorrect counting of numbers of floors climbed.
You could try restarting your Versa 4 by holding it's side button for around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on i'ts display to see if that will fix your issue though.

as I have said in my comments, I have done every single troubleshooting method there is.
These watches are trash especially considering the price and the company’s customer service is worse. My watch does not work, it is covered by two warranties, and Fitbit will not replace it.
Im taking this $300, 6 month old garbage watch that doesn’t work as a loss and switching to Apple. Based on fitbits rating on BBB I should have done this a long time ago. They’ve received yet another one star review as a company which is all they’ve ever gotten

@Fjord1989- the only reason for a watch with the current firmware to show no or ridiculous floor counts is a fault with the pressure sensor.
As it is covered by warranty there is no reason why it should not be replaced. I have flagged this to a moderator.

I appreciate that… this has been a horribly frustrating process that has taken nearly a month of me trying to get a replacement and I feel like they’re waiting for the 6th month warranty to be up so I have to pay the deductible on the additional warranty I bought

I have this exact same problem but I know they're just trying to run around the actual issue. It's not work since the moment I got it. I've complained and complained and complained and they keep giving me the runaround. I'm so pissed off.

Well there is no reason why they shouldn't replace it, it does not change the fact that they are refusing to do so.

I finally called Fitbit support and they are finally replacing mine. You can call right from your app.
