Versa 4 is not tracking my sleep data

Twice in the last week, my Versa 4 did not track my sleep duration.  Both times there was no tracking overnight in the heart section either.  I am wearing the fitbit at the same tightness as the past few years.  I had a full night sleep and the battery is over 50%.

Hi there, @rosaottawa. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 has not tracked your sleep data twice in the last week. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

On a side note, I have found that having WiFi turned on on my phone will interfere with syncing of some of the data, sleep is one of those. You may need to wait for a min or two before sync will be successful.
