Versa 4 is not tracking my swims automatically

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Swim auto tracking worked as advertised with my older FiBit models (Charge 4 & Sense 2), but has never worked on my current Versa 4 model.

Instead, it consistently auto-logs my freestyle lap swims as an “Eliptical” activity - with no lap yardage logged.

It does capture my heart rate for the last 10 min of my swim as well as the next 20 minutes as I shower, get dressed and start driving home.

A now useless feature that I once loved and used daily - now a disappointing regression  in capability.

Welcome to the community forums @cross_platform.

Thank you for taking the time to share the inquiry regarding your Versa 4. Sorry to know the inconvenience.

Please, keep in mind that your device recognizes activities at least 15 minutes long. If by any case you are swimming less that 15 minutes your device will not recognize the exercise. To manage or adjust the minimum duration of your swimming:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the Exercise days tile.
  2. Tap the three dots at the top right corner.
  3. Tap the activity settings.
  4. On feature settings tap activity detection and set up the time of swim detection.
