Versa 4 is tracking my swim laps wrong

My Fitbit Versa 4 consistently gets my number of laps wrong. I swim in a 50 m pool, have my lap length set at 50 m but it always almost doubles the number of laps recorded. How can I fix this or this a bug?

Hi there, @Peter2009. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your swim data. I'll be glad to help you!

Please keep in mind that inconsistencies in your swim data may be caused by any of the following:

  • You completed only a few laps
  • You stopped to rest multiple times or in the middle of the pool
  • You stopped to rest for longer than 60 seconds after completing a pool length
  • You changed your stroke type midway through a length
  • You swam with a kickboard or without using your arms
  • You swam less than the minimum duration needed for your swim to be automatically recognized

Hi @Peter2009 - if this started with the new app which has numerous problems that would be the cause.
