There is no way to stop it. Fitbit never stops counting steps (wrist movements) regardless activity you track. This is not a bug, it's by design.

Hi there, @Harshvardhan. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post, I understand how important it is to you to get an accurate step count with your Versa 4. We are here to help! @Triletics I appreciate your input!

I've seen you contacted our Support Team just right after posting here and they've already assisted you. If you have any questions regarding the outcome of your case, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team again. It seems they have explained to you how your Versa 4 works and how you can delete those extra steps. Since you already have a ticket open with them it'd be easier to continue the follow up on this matter with them directly.

Thanks for the reply however I respectfully disagree. While driving 30 mins bike even in smooth road, fitbit counts 2500 steps for 18 kms drive. Two way drive increase my step count by 5000. Always I have to deduct 5000 steps from my total steps for the day in order to know the exact number.

Also there is no mean to stop counting these steps. Even if watch is shut down, counting continues with app in mobile.

So if I have to record a correct step count in  my watch, I have to switch off the watch and disconnect it from mobile app as well. Once reaching, again I have to reconnect it to mobile app. So much juggling to get the actual counts.
Its shouldn't be by design.

Hi Maria,

I believe there is some miscommunication from your team. There is no other option to stop the count unless you switch off the watch and disconnect it from mobile app.
Secondly, regarding deletion of steps, it does not give options for small duration. Options are available date wise and therefore whole 24 hrs data will be deleted.
In case if there is any other option, pl feel free to reach me as my contact details are with your team.
I will be glad if there is any way we can find a solution for this problem.
