Versa 4 loses heart rate when exercising

Versa 4 replaced longtime Sense. Bought Versa for lower profile (and my charger stopped working on the Sense so I thought it was time for a replacement). When i exercise, the Versa fails to consistently detect my heart rate. It shows two dashes intermittently during my workout. Therefore, I do not get zone credit for this time. I've tried wearing it looser, wearing it tighter, shaking it, and moving it up and down arms during workout. I can't tell if it needs sweat to pick up heart rate, or can't have sweat to pick up heart rate. It's a lot of distraction during my workout and frustrating when it reports i was in fat burn for half of my run! Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi @GdsGrl713 - firstly you can get replacement charge cables, or even use the Versa 4 charge cable for your Sense. If it had stopped charging the cable is often a common cause, or simply needing proper cleaning.  How do I clean my Fitbit device?

and to check the Sense cable How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

On a Sense you have Google Assistant and a plethora of clocks and apps to choose from that the Versa 4 doesn't . The Sense is a better watch too as it has more sensors and ECG, Snore detection etc..

For the Versa 4 you could try restarting it in case there is a temporary issue but you may not get a reasonable heart rate with either of the watches during repetitive movements or exercises but it should be fine when you are not moving. How do I restart my Fitbit device?
