Good morning.
I wore my new Versa 4 (upgrade to broken Versa 3) this morning while swimming. When the app synced with the watch, it informed me I had cycled for 6 minutes, despite having swam for 45 minutes and for 2,200 metres. The pool length is set correctly, I swam either front or back crawl, didn't stop and am at a loss ro explain why Fitbit thought I cycled. (Don't own a bike!)
Can anyone help please? Many thanks.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @SunsetRunner!
To have Fitbit SmartTrack have detected an exercise automatically you'll have to have had that exercise performed at least 15 minutes. The time before having SmartTrack starting to track this exercise is lost. Thus it's advisable to start tracking exercises manually right at the beginning.
For more on that please have a look at 'Which activities does my Fitbit device track automatically?' following the link below:

Thank you for your reply. I've done all of that and surely by swimming non-stop for 45 minutes, the 15 minutes threshold is not relevant?

You're welcome , @SunsetRunner.
I'd like to point out that this is an at least 15 minute threshold. Also you've mentioned having changed swim style occasionally throughout your time in the pool. This most likely has irritated SmartTrack as it has tried to recognize a certain movement pattern for at least 15 minutes to identify your kind of exercise.

Thanks again. I change stroke at the end of a lap. The Versa 3 had no issues identifying swimming. Plainly the Versa 4 is not an upgrade!

How often have you've been wearing your new Versa 4 while swimming yet, @SunsetRunner?
It really would be interesting to see if SmartTrack is smart enough to adapt to your style of swimming if you'd give it some time to get accustomed to. We're in the era of machine learning, why not give it a try?

As I said...first time this morning. The Versa 3 recognised swimming from day 1. I'll give it a few days and no doubt if it's still rubbish/garbage, Fitbit will refuse a refund.
Thanks anyway.
