I just got my versa 4 - when I hold the button down for 10 seconds, I get a flashing blue screen 3 times then it goes to a red x and shuts down. When I plug the charger in, it does not show anything on the display. If i hold down the button less than 10 seconds it shows the fitbit logo for about 5 seconds then it turns off. Do I need to return? Any ideas would be appreciated

Hi there, @steve1328. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 4 before reaching out.

While reading your post I was wondering if you have another Fitbit device linked to your Fitbit account? Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Charge 4, Fitbit Charge 5, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, Fitbit Luxe, Fitbit Sense, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.

If you have any of the Fitbit devices mentioned above linked to your Fitbit account, that might be causing connectivity issues with your Versa 4 and the Fitbit app.

With that said, try the steps below:

  • Unpair your Versa 4 and the previous Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your new Versa 4 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 4.

If you want to use both Fitbit devices, I recommend creating a separate account for each.

Hope that helps.

I am having the exact same issue - I just got my versa 4 - when I hold the button down for 10 seconds, I get a flashing blue screen 3 times then it goes to a red x and shuts down. When I plug the charger in, it does not show anything on the display. If i hold down the button less than 10 seconds it shows the fitbit logo for about 5 seconds then it turns off.  I also have restarted the device and deleted the app, shut down the bluetooth, and reinstalled the app, etc as the above post by MarreFitbit suggested.   Can someone please help and provide further tips.

Thanks!
