Hi there, @Gayle65. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Versa 4 won't go off. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
Based on your post, it seems like your Versa 4 has the "Always On" display enabled. This feature will only show you the time on the main screen all the time, unless you press the button of your watch to see other features and stats. If Always-On is enabled, to exit this mode, turn your wrist toward you, press the button, or double-tap the display. For more information, see How do I see the time on my Fitbit device?
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Hi @Gayle65 - there may be a further improvement you can/should make on your watch.
Swipe the watch face down to get to Quick Settings and tap the gear icon to get to the watch Settings, locate the Sleep settings and setup a schedule for the watch to be in sleep mode.
What this does in between the times you specify is to stop the display coming on accidentally or vibrating if the phone receives notifications, to avoid any disturbances at night.
To view the time double tap the watch which will wake it from its sleep mode temporarily.
This does not affect your sleep measurement in any way except perhaps ensure you aren't disturbed.
