My Fitbit Versa 4 has been behaving weirdly after updating to version 214. I used to get 5–7 days of battery backup, but after the update, the battery life is terrible (not even 12 hours). It turns off when the battery level is between 60–70%, and it won't turn back on until I connect it to the charger. Then, after about five minutes, the same issue occurs — it turns off again.

Same exact symptoms, along with Bluetooth issues specifically for calls. When I turn this feature off, some of those other symptoms lightened up. This battery thing, feels a little like when Apple pushed out software to fool people with iPhones thinking their iPhones were going bad so they would go and purchase new iphones, remember that?

The exact same scenario happed to my Fitbit after the software update. The battery used to stay charged for 5 days and since the update a few days ago, it doesn't last a day. I tried a factory reset and powered off. I tried turning off every permission possible. As I'm writing this, the battery percentage dropped from 79% to 69%. If Fitbit doesn't release another update to fix this, I'm done with Fitbit.

Why isn't support responding to this issue?

I went on chat over a week ago to complain.
They blamed my clock face being non standard.
They said I had my fitbit on all the time.
I said I'd done nothing different since I had the watch in January but since the update I had less than 2 days charge.
I was told to revert to a fitbit clock face and charge to 100% and see how it held charge.
It lasted 8 days!!!
No idea what they did, but they obviously did something to my account or app while I was on chat to them and it's back to normal now.

Would you be able to tell me which clock face you’re using now?? I’m using a Fitbit one but would give yours a try to see if it helps

Could you please share the contact details for the support?

Same here, battery used to last 4 days or more. Now after the 214.24 update it barely lasts 2 hours! Has Fitbit support acknowledged this issue? Can someone share the contact info for support.

I have this problem too. Changing the “clock face” to the standard one and removing all other elements helps a little (now it doesn't reset or leave a red cross, but unfortunately it drains the battery very quickly).

I contacted Fitbit support via chat, but they are not even acknowledging the issue. Since it is clearly a software bug, they could easily resolve it — but they don’t seem bothered about fixing it. They are simply ignoring the request, stating that the device is not working as it should and that they can only help if it is under warranty.
I repeatedly told them that this is a common issue affecting all Versa 4 watches, but I received no positive response from the support team. I also asked for the complaint escalation matrix, but they simply said they don’t have one.
If anyone in this community has legal connections in the US, please consider pursuing legal action.

I'm so aggravated, I wouldn't buy a Pixel if it was the only smartwatch/tracker. I've been a Fitbit user for 10 years, and this is not okay!

In addition to the battery issues that I am having also. My Versa is stuck with both Do Not Disturb and Sleep Mode turned on. I have synced with the app and installed the latest update. I have tried resetting it both on the watch and in the app and the problem is still persisting. I have even gone as far as doing a factory reset twice. Is there anything else I should be doing to fix the issue?

I bought my Versa 4 to replace my two+ year old Versa 3. It was a going home present and arrived back in the US in May. Put the watch into operation ! Great and it worked great, for a while. I'm guessing the firmware made it to the watch in the last 48 hours. Yesterday I did my morning exercise hour and stopped the timer... the watch lost its mind at that point. It comes on and acts like it was never set-up. I can't get it recognized by the App. This will be my last Fitbit and the end of Fitbit premium of they do not assist with a fix. I'll give it a week.

I guess third time’s the charm. I did my third factory reset and it worked to get my FitBit unlocked. Finally! Now it is working well and the battery life even seems better. It was a hassle and I lost my watchface, but everything is working well now.
