Versa 4 total FUBAR

I purchased, from FITBIT.COM, a brand new Versa 4 on August 3rd.  It would not charge.  According to Fitbit tech support, it was faulty out of the box.  I was told to return it, which I did.  After many weeks of waiting, I received their "replacement" today, Sept 27th.  It was stamped 'refurbished'.  It arrived in a FEDEX ENVELOPE, and what I received was a WATCH.  No box, no band and no charger.  Spoke with them after receiving this FRAUD and was advised I would have to wait 24 hours for someone to review the issue.  At this point, just give me  my $$ back, and I will not 'bother' Fitbit again and will purchase and Apple watch.  Been a Fitbit user for 8 years....so very disappointed and angry

Hi @extraclass7  when an item is replaced, what Fitbit sends is the pebble portion, not the entire set of bands and charger. You can read more about it here: click. I'm not sure how it's fraud when the warranty information states that a refurbished unit might be sent. It's all based on what's in stock when your claim is honored.

I agree with you that Fitbit has poor customer support. I received a new Versa 4 that had sync, battery, and GPS issues. They would not refund as I was past 45 days due to the watch arriving 1 day too late and I had already departed for a 3 week Europe vacation. Also, the clock starts on the day you order, not the day you receive or activate. After multiple chats with technicians, FB finally agreed I had a defective unit and sent the refurbished “pebble” in a plain unprotected Fedex envelope.  I didn’t have to send the other one back as it costs them more in shipping than it’s worth. They simply disabled it remotely as soon as I activated the replacement.  I will say my replacement looked brand new.  More importantly, the battery and sync issues are mostly resolved. Battery life is still not great compared to any of my earlier FBs (Charge HR, Charge2, Alta, Versa 2 and Charge 4), but I usually charge it while showering everyday, so it’s not a big issue.  The biggest unresolved issue is GPS accuracy.  In a word, it sucks.  I can’t rely on the Versa 4 to record a bike ride accurately and must use a second device.

Per the letter of their terms you are correct. But.. seriously? What a lousy sheister strategy.  Instead of replacing a *defective out-of-the-box* unit with a NOT-NEW _partial_ replacement (which makes sense for warranty replacement of ones due more to actual wearage), they should have just offered her a refund in the first place (presuming she was within 45days.. of it ARRIVIMG, not when the order was placed.. unless their terms explicitly state otherwise though likely not legally enforceable).. or (would jave been preferable) send her a brand new full unit (in exchange for the defective one that they could pawn off on some other customer less-deserving down the road, after 'repairing' it).
