Hi there, @Onyx911. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums.

To better assist you, would you mind providing me with more details of the issue with your Versa 4? Is it not tracking your steps accurately?

In the meantime, I'd recommend taking a look at this help article How accurate are Fitbit devices?

Mine Versa does not track distance correctly either. Yesterday I did a 5 mile walk, RunKeeper recorded it as 5 miles and my husbands Apple Watch recorded it as 5 miles. My versa said 3.61 miles.

@Onyx911 Thanks for the details provided.

Fitbit devices use the formula below to calculate distance. Your stride length is determined by your height and sex. Steps x Stride Length = Distance Traveled

Please note when you track an activity with GPS, your device calculates your distance using GPS data rather than steps. If you begin moving before you get a GPS signal, your device calculates distance using your steps until GPS connects.

To update your stride length, track a run with GPS or measure your stride length manually. For more information, see Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

For more information about GPS, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?

@Pdiffy Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and the details shared in your post.

As a first approach, I would like to clarify that it's normal that you see a difference when you are comparing your data with another person, this is because Fitbit devices record your data based on your personal information (age, gender, weight and height).

If you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

I've been having the same issue! Very inaccurate, and now I can't login or sync....

I agree. My sleeping data is off completely. It only logs about an hour and a half of sleep if even that.

I understand that # of steps would be different for me @ 5’5” and my 6’ husband but GPS should be measuring distance - not calculating steps times stride. If the $250 Versa I purchased is doing the calculation instead of using satellites and GPS to measure distance as advertised I think you owe me a refund.

The pace changes constantly by large margins. ie 24.29, then 10.35, then 21.50, then 12.16. This happens throughout my walk.

Hi, tracking of sleep hours and other exercise activities is not syncing right according to the current time zone. Even if my time zone is auto-identified correctly, the tracking shows it with a 1-hr phasing (1 hour later than the right time)
