Versa 4 won’t turn on

Help! We recently went on holiday to Turkey and my Fitbit randomly stopped working. I was very careful to keep it out of water and out of the intense heat. I thought it had ran out of battery so charged it up and it won’t switch on. I hold the power button for 10seconds and it flashes with the Fitbit logo for a few times and then shows a big Red Cross and shuts down again. I’ve tried the usual trouble shooting; disconnecting everything etc. but still no joy.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Nikki88w!

Sad to hear that your Versa 4 isn't working as expected. What you've described, to me sounds like the battery of your device is alm ost fully discharged. As there are many possible reasons why your device won't charge, I'd suggest having a closer look here to hopefully get things fixed:

Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

My previous Fitbit lasted approximately 2 years and then quit. That was the length of the warranty. The company offered me a discount to replace the watch.

Hi @Nikki88w  - just to be clear, if a second restart doesn't help did you try removing the watch entries from the phone's Bluetooth and the watch from the Fitbit App and turn off any other devices running the Fitbit App.

Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window and in Android clear the storage cache and force stop it and then restart the phone.

Restart the watch by holding the button for 10 seconds till it vibrates and the logo appears and wait for it to start.

What is funny is that mine just died and it is just over the 2 years and I got a similar email. My sister-in-law had the same thing happen.

I am seriously wondering if Fitbit does this on purpose.

The same thing has happened to me today.  Have you been able to find a solution?

The same thing that happened to @Nikki88w has happened to me today.  I just charged my battery last night.  The device was showing 79% charged this evening before it quit.  I have tried everything I can think of but only get the flashing red logo and then the big red X.

I will appreciate any advice I can get.

Contact Fitbit to see if they can help reset it. If it is still under warranty they may fix it free, or send you a new one.

I ended up being gifted a new one by my son and his family.
If the warranty period is over, you will probably have to get a new one.
Contact Fitbit first to see what they can do.

That is great for these people.
Mine had gone just past the warranty, so not replaceable.

Sounds as though the Fitbit Versa 4 has quite a few problems. Maybe there should be a recall on them.
