If you have a working fitbit now, sync it right before switching to make sure get all data to fitbit database.
Then on phone app Today screen top left battery % icon > Add more devices >
It asks what are you setting up > Versa 4. It will say something like 'you already have one attached. are you replacing it? yes. And it takes care of all the rest.
The key is that you are in the same account as your previous one was, and the data will be there continuous.
Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
